Hey Steve...I like the photoshop. The gas cap is a Porsche 944 cap...I may change it to a flush mount superbike style or even an old "Eelco" quick release. This car had a lot of Porsche influence like the whale tail, which I decided not to use and the "targa roof panel" from a 944...it is the closest thing to having a convertible Z. I am getting very close to having this car on the road, but I am trying to finish my Z28 at the same time...If building was as easy as thinking about it, I would have done these projects 20 times already...even in my sleep, I am working on all of my junk.

18x13 on the rear, 18x11.5 on the front...tires 335/30/18, and 285/30/13...the rims that you see on the back shot are the front rims...the actual rear rims are HUGE deep dish!...all I did was set the wheel in front of the tire/wheel mounted on the car..."old tech photo shop"

Widebody 240Z
I bought this car from my good friend, Taylor, who owned it for 27 years! I have owned 1 240Z in my life, a bone stock silver 1971 240Z. I always wanted to own a V8 Datsun, but never got around to it, instead focussing on building and racing many 69-73 Camaros, and a 930 RUF Slantnose Turbo Porsche, to name a few. My friend Taylor built himself a beautiful 930 slantnose and so his energies went away from the Datsun. In a moment of weakness, I engaged in a 5 minute conversation, at the end of which I became the new owner...That was Nov 1, 2003. Since then, I had the car repainted, ordered some new CCW rims, 18x13, 18x11.5, and am waiting for some Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires. The trans was screwed so I got a new iron case Super T-10. I thought about putting a Richmond 6 Speed in it but that would make it a near 200MPH car and I've already played around with a 200MPH car (the Ruf)...It's too fast, and I don't want to kill myself. Anyway, as I get the car done I will post a ton of pictures as the car has a lot of neat features like a removable roof panel from a Porsche 944...Makes for great "open top" driving, coilover suspension, and of course, the Spectacular Small block Chev Engine, Roller cam, Brodix Track 1 Aluminum heads. The goal: to embarrass all of the yuppies who spend big cash on their rides. Just to let you know, I am a very working class guy who got lucky, made a little money and now can afford (barely) a few cars that I dreamed about as a kid. I have to say that I love looking at all the pics of Z cars on this site...I think the 240Z is THE most significant AFFORDABLE sports car...I just HATE all the new Big dollar, Fu-Fu Retro cars being brought out to be bought up by rich yuppies...I'll take my cash, build this old '72 and KILL those guys. Gib P.S. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I will be posting pics as soon as I install my new 18" rims, install my new trans. I remember seeing this pic andnow I am seriously thinking of painting my car black...it just makes a car look too nasty. I sold my Ruf 930 Turbo basically because I didn't like the color...red...and my 240Z is red...and I have a prostreet '69 Camaro and a 70 RS Z28 in guess what color?...RED!

I have a car that looks just like this.It is powered by a 500HP Brodix Alum head Small Block Chevy, and a Super T-10. I am thinking of selling it. There's about $50K into it...I'll probably sell it for around $20K. Does anybody know the name of the Body kit?
