Just picked up a Fairlady!
I owned a 1970 Fairlady and now have a 1973. Both were Nissans.

'70 Fairlady Z
Yes, I was the second owner. It was purchased in Tokyo by an Air Force Captain and brought back to the US. I got it when he had to ship out from Homestead Air Force Base...Bob

'70 Fairlady Z
Unfortunately, that should be labeled as our first and late '70 Fairlady Z. She was rendered into junk status by hurricane andrew back in 1992. Took a few trees and such to do her in, but she is no longer with us. That picture is from an old photograph and was scanned into my computer. Sorry...Bob

Early Z questions
I'll try the hatch and see. I figured that what you stated was about it. As for the tail lights, I need the right one, and an American one will do if I can take the chrome piece off. I have the amber lenses, and THOSE are REALLY REALLY expensive. Almost $1000 a set. Thanks for the promt reply...Bob

Early Z questions
I have two questions on the early Z, pre '74. Does anyone know if there is some sort of adjustment for the rear hatch? Mine does not close evenly, i.e.: not flush with the body on the left rear corner. The right is fine. Second question. Is the tail light assembly a single part or multi-part? I need to replace the chrome horizontal separator between the upper and lower lenses. Or must I replace the entire assembly? Thanks for any advice...Bob

serial number location?
I'm not sure about the 240Z, but on my Fairlady Z's, both had the number stamped into the firewall. This was on the side nearest the master cylinder. Perhaps on the other side in a 240Z? Hope this helps...Bob
