  1. I agree with you on the original Z chrome mirrors mounted on the door. That's what I would have preferred in the first place. Only reason I wanted the MZR type non-carbon looking mirrors was because of their small foot print would work on the plates where the OEM mirrors would look super odd mounted the same place. BTW I cant find the upper window frame link on FB. Can you send me a direct link? Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, just picked a 240Z that other than the hideous mirrors is beautiful and in mint condition. The previous owner took years to build this car and really took care of it. Unfortunately his taste in mirrors and how he chose to install them is at the very least, questionable. I've looked into removing the mirror plates and having body shops repairing the rivets and filling the holes. Unfortunately non of the shops guarantee the outcome will be good and want around $1000 for the job. I've also considered replacing the upper window frame but cant find any new or in excellent condition. So now I'm considering keeping the window plates but cutting them down substantially and only dealing with filling two holes left from the rivets instead of five. I'm thinking using MZR type mirrors with smaller footprint that would cover most of the area of the cut down plate. What do you think of the idea and what style mirrors would you use? Thanks!
  3. Looking to replace my black 5-speed shift knob with a wooden type that matches the color of my faux wood steering. The site zcardepot.com has many to choose from but it’s difficult to tell from crappy low res images.
  4. Oh nice! Well I have no space or use for them and would like to get rid of them. Any idea of their value?
  5. Hey guys, I'm upgrading the suspension on my car and have deiced to use coil overs. My car is strictly for cruising and occasional spirited drives in the canyons of Southern California. Which coil overs do you recommend?
  6. Just picked up a 240Z two weeks ago that came with the Enkei HR 14x7 wheels. Though they look nice I quickly replaced them with a set of Konig Rewind 16x7's. Does anyone have info on these wheels? Called Enkei yesterday and left a message and awaiting a reply.
  7. Just replaced my wheels and finally found out the older wheel set brand, Enki HR 14x7. Anyone know info on these wheels?

Had my car inspected by Sam at Sam's Datsun today. Other than the rear springs the car passed with flying colors. Sometime next week a set of Konig Rewind 16x7 wheels with 215 55R 16 tires will mounted on my car. I need to decide if I need to replace the current springs with inexpensive Eibach's or go all out and spring (no pun) for some coil-cover camber kit. What do you guys think?
  9. Just picked up a 73 240Z less than two weeks ago and looking to replace all the fluids. The car has the L28 engine upgrade, in excellent condition, but has not been driven much in the last five years. I plan on getting the car inspected by a Z specialist this week but will change the fluids myself. Any info on brand, viscosity, etc..would be appreciate it

Wow that’s good know. Thanks! Btw I’m gonna change all the fluids in the car as the last owner only drove it around 100 miles last year. What type of engine oil, oil filter, and brake fluid do you guys recommend?

I ordered some new wheels and should have them in a week. Once they are mounted I’ll take the car into Sam Datsun and have him give the car a complete inspection. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hey guys, just picked up a beautiful condition 73 240Z last week from a friend who's selling most of his classic cars. The Z has been upgraded with the 2.8L engine and 5-speed transmission and with some after market wheels that are about to be replaced next week with Konig Rewind 16x7 wheels and 215 55R 16 Kuhmo tires. Even though the car is in excellent condition I would like to have it inspected by a Z specialist here in the Los Angeles area. I've noticed the rear right side of the car is a little lower than the left rear. Perhaps saggy spring? Also Once the car is mechanically inspected I'll look to replace the seats and the mirrors with more OEM/time period pieces. In the meantime can someone recommend a good Z specialist in the Los Angeles area (not OC)? Thanks!
  13. Wow that was fast! Thanks!
  14. Here’s a better pic.
  15. Just picked a mint condition 1973 240Z a week ago and looking to upgrade my wheels. Can someone identify them for me? All I know is they are 14” and have Pirelli P4 195 70R tires mounted on them. Thanks!
