Tow or trailer
Hello, I need to get my early 260Z to the shop for final paint and it will need to be towed or on a trailer. I have the front suspension in except brakes. The rear suspension is in except diff. and brakes. No motor or trans. Would it be safe to tow her using a car dolly on the front and staying on city streets? Thanks for your input. Skip

e-brake adapter
Does anyone have the dimensions of the adapter for the e-brake cable to 280zx disk brake? $30.00 is a bit steep and I thought I would just make them. Thanks for your help. Skip

What do I do to clean the block?
Are you taking the lower end of the engine apart? If not, I would not use the system described above because you will never be able to get your cylinders clean enough. Scrap off as much as you can and clean out really well.

Ignition problem/static electricity in body
Did you try and clean the engine/engine bay with the water spray? If so, check for water in your dizzy.

doors ??
IIRC, the doors are basiclly the same 1971-1976. Some changes to the interior door panel, changing the armrest, opening mech. attachment and different intrusion protection inside the door. The 77 & 78 doors had the door lock pull moved about 3" forward and the latch mech was changed. The 77 & 78 will not work on an earlier Z without much time and expense.

Door panel swap question.

Brake proportioning valve
With the 280ZX having 4 wheel disc, has anyone used the ZX proportioning valve when converting to rear disc in a S30? Auxilary, "What I did is remove the stock prop valve (valves if you have a 73/74)" Are you referring to the 3 way valve in the rear of car as the second valve? Why does this valve need to be changed? Does it hold back pressure on the rear brakes? Skip early 260Z

JSK spacer
Hello, I am in the process of assembling the front hubs and have a question. With the spacer in place, I can no longer center the rotor on the hub and there is no centering lip on the spacer, is it going to be a problem? There is a very small amount of play before I tighten the bolts. If the rotor is off center just a hair... I did not what this to cause a vibration or something worse. The JSK web site is down so no help there. For those that have done this upgrade, have you run into any problems? Thanks, Skip Early 260Z

Got ahead of my self, and now can't remove Nut!
I used a couple of lug nuts to attach the hub to a wheel (with tire), lay on ground and have your biggest friend stand on the tire. Get a 4' cheater bar attached to your ratchet and it should come off.

Euro amber tail light lens
Hello everyone, I have been in contact with Klearz about making just the lower rear amber lens for 260z & 280z's and if we can get 5 people interested, the cost is down to $70.00 for the pair. This is alot better then spending $250.00 plus. I am really interested and ready to purchase. Anyone else interested. Skip

my z got hurt need insurance advice
I don't have all of the answers but you should get alot of input on this. To start, find EVERY reciept you can find for things you bought for the car. They ( insert any ins. co) will try to low ball you. Get your own appraisls. If you have a good ins. agent, let them handle the mess. Other questions - can you demand that they fix the Z rather then totaling it, get the latest value(Nada?).

What car is this from? (pic)
Thanks everyone for your help. Just curious about the air cleaner assemblies. With them pointing in different directions, was there any difference in how much air the front 2 cylinders got verses the rear 2 and any guess as to how many different cars used the SU style carb? Thanks again, Skip
