FS: '02 Vibrant Blue Spec V
Sheehy is an all-conquering automotive empire! ...I don't know, really. Only been working there a few months. However, what's the guys' name? We have a few people in the service dept. who have been there YEARS. Like, ten and twenty. So he might still be around.

FS: '02 Vibrant Blue Spec V
Okay, guys...deciding I want my '72 240z more than the Spec. So, Spec has to go! Here's the lowdown. 2002 Model No mods! Ever! New Tires Plenty of brake life recent oil change just under 22,000 miles Nissan Certified! = 100,000 mile warranty. The car has not a single scratch, dent, or defect. The rims were lightly scuffed (on the edges) from the previous owner, but nothing noticable at all. I work for Nissan and the car has been parked in a safe neighborhood every single night. As far as driving, the car shifts smoothly and has not had a single problem recall-wise. Engine is still super-smooth and quiet, transmission is clockwork, and the interior is immaculate. The car has the AF package, and an in-dash 6 CD changer. Car has a moonroof, and to sum things up, really DOES look, feel, and drive "like new." I take care of my cars. The automobile is located in Annapolis, Maryland, and I'd love to show it to you and let you take a spin if you'd like. I work Monday through Friday at Sheehy Nissan, so anytime on a weeknight or anyday on the weekend is fine. I will be posting pictures as soon as this snow clears up...yuck! Please feel free to PM me for more information. Asking price is $13,250.

Custom Wiring Harnesses (Part 2)
I have only one request, and that is that an easy to read and comprehend wiring diagram is provided. It'd be a shame to try and wire a stereo or whatnot and not have a clue which wires to tap. I just can't wait...really! I'm not driving it till I put new wires in, because I can't stand the erratic electrical problems, haha.

Custom Wiring Harnesses
The only ground is near the alternator, you say? I need to check "all the grounds" on my Z, according to my mechanics. My electrical system seems possessed. After changing my bulbs in the taillight assemblies, the taillights no longer come on when I switch the headlamps on, but now the brake lights work, but when I press the brake pedal, the right reverse lamp comes on...etc. etc. That and interior lights that didn't work on Monday suddenly work on Tuesday. The wiring harness on my car is admittedly butchered, but appears as if it *should* function properly. Any suggestions? If there's only one ground, then hey...my "day-long project" was just drastically shortened in duration!

Steel behind bumper replaceable??
Hey guys! Just wondering...on my '72 240z, the metal behind the useless bumper has been slightly crunched. Is this a replaceable part? I'd much prefer to tear the thing off and replace it with a new, non surface-rusted piece, just to be safe. I can get a pic if needed, but literally it's the piece behind the left corner of the flimsy metal bumper. Thanks.

WTB: 280zxt
I'll take either the whole car, or just everything under the hood. I'm doing an L28ET swap into my 240z, and need all the necessaries. PM me if you can lend a hand.

Custom Wiring Harnesses
*eyes widen* Oooh, you're good. Well, let me know if you need anything else, and keep us posted. Take care. Edit: Just creating a budget for the next few months. What do you expect a new wiring harness to cost? By which I mean full harness. Thanks again.

Custom Wiring Harnesses
The situation appears to be rather tricky. It seems I can get some parts labeled as "Connector," yet on different cars, selection varies. Obviously, if I purchased a wiring harness in full (If still available from Nissan), I'd get the connectors. However, I have no way of telling if they'd be labeled with a nonexistent Nissan part number, or labeled with whomever made the connectors' names. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Engine Rebuild Questions
Okay...I'm convinced. I'll find a 280zxt and pull the entire engine, rebuild the beast, and drop it into my 240z (which will get sandblasted and repainted while the engine is rebuilt). Now...which model year do I get? I know 81-82 are okay, but I've heard one bad thing about the 83. Apparently it has hydraulic valve lifters instead of normal rocker arms? Supposed to make the car much quieter, but "impossible" to rebuild? Could someone enlighten me with some facts? I'd prefer a quieter engine, but if it'll be too much trouble, I'll just get a different model year. Thanks!

Custom Wiring Harnesses
I'll whip out the microfiche and see what's up tomorrow morning. More than likely I'd have to purchase a full wiring harness (if any are available) to get the included connectors. We can hope for the best, though. On that note...looks like I'll be needing a 280zxt style engine room harness, with 240z underdash and body. Crazy swapping ideas! Watch for a reply tomorrow.

Keith, Any progress or needs? Just wondering if I can help out. I figure I might be of SOME use, having access to Nissan and such. Let me know, thanks.

Engine Rebuild Questions
Okay, fuel injection is a must. And turbo is so....turbocharged and awesome. So a fuel injected, turbocharged engine, sticking with the L24 block to keep things at least half original. Thanks for the help thus far!

Custom Wiring Harnesses
I work for Nissan in the parts department. Any specific questions you can ask me...I'm even willing to break out the microfiche reader for you all. However, I'm 99.9% positive that Nissan won't make more wiring harnesses. And if they did, they'll be upwards of 700 bucks a piece. Pretty much, Nissan's philosophy on old parts is, "Once they're gone, they're gone." They don't stand to make any real money off of manufacturing new old parts for cars in an increasingly small number. Anyhow, full wiring harnesses aren't a very common need, so...I'm putting my money on ZHadMan =)

Engine Rebuild Questions
Aaaand being the noob I am, I went and googled the sweet bejesus out of last night. If I go with the N47 head, I will go N/A. If I go P90, I'll turbocharge it. Either way...can someone draft up a parts list? Gotta call my local junkyard, and I need details for them. I'd hate to not get a piece I need and then be screwed when it's gone later. Quicker is better, as I'd like to have the FI done asap. Thanks!

Engine Rebuild Questions
Okay...thanks for the responses thus far. I want to keep the rebuild lower-budget, so no adding a block. I'd add the new head for FI, and rebuild/strengthen the existing block. I want to keep it as close to stock as possible, but simply make it better. Maybe turbo in the future, who knows. And sadly, I don't know chassis/engine codes that far back...P90 and F54 mean nothing to me, so please offer an explanation when you use carspeak (I'm learning, though!). Thanks again guys, and keep em coming. Oh, and by the way...anyone know much about the Nismo line for the 240z?

Engine Rebuild Questions
Hello all! I'm considering rebuilding and refinishing my L24 engine. I want to add Fuel Injection and convert it to a 5spd, and leave plenty of room for horsepower expansion. Race pistons and whatnot. I'm just curious as to your suggestions on what to do. I considered doing an RB swap, but I'd rather keep it stock but souped up. Thanks in advance.

Bad leak, after accident... Can anyone recognize this piece?
Take the book to a dealership and let it be there problem. Ask to check pricing and availibility, and if you don't like their price, buy it elsewhere. Good luck.

Custom Wiring Harnesses
I am entirely interested in this. Whomever owned my Z before me must've loved scissors and electrical tape...as most all sections of my wiring harnesses are composed more of random splices and electrical tape than they are of original materials. The body and underdash harnesses are my main concerns at the moment, as my engine harness seems untouched. However, I am highly considering converting my dual SUs to FI, and would need connectors for any additional equipment. Let me know what I can do to help.

Blower control knob Pin?
What size/kind of screw? I'll go buy one and put it on...gotta see if that motor works!!!

Blower control knob Pin?
Hi all. Just wondering how the little knob that controls fan speed is supposed to attach to the metal part that really controls it. I see a metal rod with a hole in it, my plastic blower knob with a hole in it, and the connection is certainly there in my mind. What binds the two together???

Woe Is Me! (240z Electrical Angst)
If everything worked before you pulled it out, I might be interested. How much do you want for it, and how much to ship it to Annapolis, MD? (21401).

Woe Is Me! (240z Electrical Angst)
I'll be removing all the stalks and such from the steering column and cleaning those, and more than likely the lights. However, I know I"ll have to at least replace the wiring harness, as someone has clearly tampered with mine. A slice in the casing shows a wire held together by red electrical tape, and I'm positive there are other such mishaps on the car. What would be best, to buy the harnesses off another '72 240z or to simply rerun all the wire myself? Can't wait to get this thing running...
