  1. Wish I was closer to finishing the car. I'm in Annapolis. Let me know if you have too much trouble selling it...I'm trying to put as much Nismo on the car as possible (I'm certainly a brand whore) and a header would do just the trick.
  2. Pardon my ignorance as I haven't the time to read the post, but I know the jist of it. The question I pose to the community as a whole is as follows: Who did you take those pictures for, yourself? This site is a place for Datsun enthusiasts of all levels to learn and appreciate these cars. So you have a fabulous picture of a Z. Why NOT share it with others? Even if they slap their website's address on it and pass it around the net...is it not spreading the same cause we share? It isn't as if someone is stealing your car, they're stealing a picture of it...I say unlock the galleries and simply include an option upon uploading that watermarks the CZCC logo into the picture.
  3. How far from Center City Philly?
  4. How'd you manage to find an 86 anyways? All the ricers get them where I live, and do horrible horrible things to them =/

Good to know I'm not alone, and 280z, I second that...what's up with that anyhow? Thinking I might go home this weekend out of frustration. I really want to get the car up high and start dismantling suspension/brakes.

Guys, he's from Arkansas...could very well be his sister AND his girlfriend!

Fever, I thought you dissapeared and were trying to sell your Z. Are you going to stick it out?
  8. Sounds like the aftermarket switch was an add-on to avoid a problem with the stalk, else it would be unnecessary (providing you have stock lights)? I was in your position this time last year. New Z, tons of odd electrical problems. My advice on the tails is to check the grounds, wiggle wires and see if things illuminate, etc. I ended up having to buy new taillamp harnesses (they're cheap used) and avoided a lot of headaches that way. The wiring on these cars is notorious for corroding/being supremely annoying, and be sure to inspect the condition of your fusebox. Clean the contacts and make sure the connections there are tight before you go pulling harnesses. Good luck and have fun! A Z is worth it any day.

Hope you like the term, I coined it just now. I am away at school, and having a blast. I'm learning, socializing, and making connections I feel I'll have for a while. I'm missing something though...my Z. I went home over the weekend and stuck myself in the garage all day Saturday. It was so amazing to feel like I accomplished something, I was so happy. Even though I work a ton up here academically, there's just something about working on the Z that makes me feel whole. Anyone else experienced Zpression?

Said it before and I'll say it again...anything I can do to help, let me know. I plan on redoing all the wiring in my Z if/when I do a turbo swap, and I imagine with one huge sheet of plywood and a lot of time on the wiring diagram it could be done. I don't know where to source connectors, but I'm sure some here do. This, for me, however, is a project that has to lie dormant for a decent while. I have the time/energy, but I'd much rather kill rust first.
  13. Hi all. Good to see everyone again, I've been settling into school and now have enough time to browse my beloved forums. Here's my latest question, and apologies if I didn't search thoroughly enough. I have a floor jack and jackstands (up to 21" on the stands), and wish to put the car as high as it can go. What is the safe, intelligent way to go about this? With suspension travel, the highest I can get the car is the absolute lowest setting on my stands, which allows me to see/reach a lot, but really not enough room to get under there on my creeper and have at it. Thanks in advance for the replies. Nate P.S. Home this weekend from Temple...the undercoating is being blasted off in a few minutes (heheheheh!!!)
  14. People do it all the time to help with weight distribution, though most of the time I see them in trunks, not hatches. How often do batteries blow up, really? I plan on doing it with mine.
  15. To one of the gurus...would this qualify as OEM-replacement? I know it isn't Nissan branded, but it IS braided...or is it? I'm just wondering as to the construction.
  16. Are you from NICO? PM me details about the car. Thanks.

I'm a student at Temple University (Http://www.temple.edu) in my 2nd and almost a half year, studying Philosophy and either Japanese or French, I haven't decided which to get a degree in yet. After that, I'm off to law school. Hope to either work for the feds doing something awesome (Ed, any chance you can get me an internship? I have quite the interest in terrorism/counter-terrorism and live in the DC area), having/working at good firm (corporate/trade law is what I'm interested in), and/or opening my own slew of coffee shops. I LOVE coffee and have been doing it for years. I vote Student for the moment, but in a few years....
  19. Datsun Engineer 1: "Oh man, that was great. This new GT car (Z) is awesome! What should we make next?" Datsun Engineer 2: "Oh, I dunno. Let's make something totally CRAP. You know, I had this dream the other night..." *Engineer 2 sketches something resembling a 510 with a HUGE, ugly arse* Datsun Engineer 1: "...Are you SURE? Can we release something like that into the wild?"

Welcome to the wonderful, wide world of wiring.

Well, an eBay sale is a binding contract. If you're sick of no response, I'd talk to eBay and they'll probably threaten account termination, etc. Legal action IS possible. Negative feedback will kill him (people take it verrrry seriously), and if you used PayPal, they have a bit of protection as well.

This is REALLY weird. Is this same eBay account Chloe used? Even if she sold the business, would it make any sense at all to give the new owner her eBay account/pass? This seems very sketchy, and even sketchier that it's happening with our beloved MWZ. =( I just want to know I can parts from people I trust soon...
  23. Why sell a Black Pearl and move to something "better," unless by "better" you mean something easier to work on. Judging from your other posts, you need an absolutely turnkey Datsun...which I think short of a Factory Restored Z, you won't find. You have a nice piece of history in your hands, why pass it off?

The RB20DE(T) is, well....small. The power it puts out stock is really unimpressive, and for the price one pays to acquire, install, and modify mounts/transmissions to work in a Z, you could have a NICELY built L-series that outperformed it in every way except uniqueness. Not to say it isn't a great engine, but c'mon...2.0 litre six?
  25. Yo, I just got a 240zx off my boy after I wrecked my Integra LS Type R in a race through some suburban streets filled with little kids. I got a question, tho, can I jus stick the B16 from my TOTALLY PHAT race car into this one? I already melted the springs and put Bondo all over it, so I'm like....$20 away in stickers from a 10 second car. *shakes head* At least we're just getting V8-heads instead of ricers. Good thing there aren't enough classic Z's remaining to butcher wholesale.
