280z: another problem
What did you disconnect/remove during the install? Is the car FI or Carbs? Not sure if these cars have O2 sensors in the exhaust? All I know is my 240z

My new 240Z - what have I gotten myself in to?
Buy used, shop eBay, and when you simply cannot find something, talk to Chloe at MidwestZ. Befriend your multimeter and buy a Factory Service Manual. $2500 sounds entirely possible, you just have to buy right. I would be on the lookout for a rusted to hell parts car for the interior parts. Shifter bushings are the problem with the ragdoll shifter...they're pretty cheap and can be bought new. Both Motorsport and Victoria British sell full weatherstripping kits for something around $200, and full carpeting kits for similar pricing (if you decide to not make it yourself or buy a parts car). Seats you can either purchase from a parts car or a member here, but I suggest searching for the post about Miata seats. Seems like a LOT of options are available to us Z owners concerning seats. Above all else, have fun and don't overstress yourself...you're the proud owner of a beautiful car, and working for it is half the fun!!!! =D

Inspection Checklist?
About to sell my '02 Sentra and make my '72 my daily driver. I want to amass a list of all items/functions/systems to check and test before getting rid of my Warranty, er, car, and migrating to my Z. So, zedheads...what should I check? Generalizing a bit is fine (I.e. Suspension instead of Right front thisandthat, left shock, with the exception of notoriously failing parts). Hope to get it inspected within the next week or so. Thanks in advance! My list so far: Clutch Shifter Brakes Steering Lights Exhaust Differential Starting system Charging system Lock mechanisms Wheels/Tires

lost keys.
Hooray for Shakespearean references! On that note, I just know I'll forget to lock the hatch one day and come back to a stolen stereo =/ That is, if this car ever makes it out of the garage!

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
Ummm...fixed it, sorta. Fiddled with stuff until I found a connection behind the radio panel that just looked wrong. One white wire with black electrical tape around it, bullet style connector (coming out of the fusebox). Another white wire wrapped in tape, bullet connector, just long enough to reach the other one. So I said what the hey and plugged them together. Now: Taillights/Headlights/Sidemarkers work fine, incl. brights Brake lamps work properly Turn Signals work properly Hazards work properly Things not working: Map Lamp/Room Lamp Reverse Lights I love this car

How well do L24 hold up to nitrous?
Judging from the pics you posted...your car needs a little love before you should even be driving it, much less pushing it in the 1/4 mile. That being said...I know I'll have a 50 shot in mine once it's all said and done =D

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
For some reason, the avatar is messing with my computer at work, but not the PC i use at home. I'll get rid of it. On that note, I've replaced both the Hazard Switch (Got one from MWZ - Chloe tested it to work) and the Flasher (New one at Advance Auto) to no avail. The turn signals and stop lamps (and tail lights) all work properly. On the map lamp, I have a red wire and a black wire coming out, and I've never unplugged it from where it was previously. Let me know if I can scrounge up any other details.

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
Okay... So I have a Hazard Switch I know to work for a fact, a brand new Hazard Flasher, and the fuse is not blowing (and power is running through it, around 10-11v). If there is no relay for it to blow...please don't say the wiring is toast, pleeeeease don't say the wiring is toast. I got under the dash (resting my head on th ebrake pedal, I'm sure we've all done that) and shined the light around...no smokey looking connectors, no melted wires that I can see. So confusing!!

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
One of mine (power to the blower) was cut by the PO, I haven't a clue why, but I figured it out and returned the power on its proper path...and my blower works. The other one I still haven't found, but I think it's for the radio. I looked under the fusebox (mine is pretty clean on the underside), but the connections on top are a little gross...not so much that it wouldn't conduct, however. I still have dash lights (except the ones with burned out bulbs)...yuck. Could a dying turn signal stalk cause this? Mine still works, but it definitely feels like it's on its way out.

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
I replaced that one yesterday to no avail. What is the plug-style fuse box, and would that relay happen to be the "Accesory Relay" on my wiring diagram? What I meant by the turn signals working was that the bulbs themselves illuminate, so I didn't short them out. So does anyone know where that 20A fuse is???? Thanks Chris for the help, I'll bet we (being the community) can knock this out.

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
I replaced the flasher, as it was OLD as crap and just waiting to not work. I hadn't checked the bulbs for the interior lamps, but my turn signals still work (meaning my hazard lamps should too). After looking at my wiring diagram in the FSM last night, I found a Blue/Red wire running from the map lamp, and it appears to touch the room lamp and some other bits...all of which are non-operational in my car. There also appears to be an inline 20A fuse. Can anyone point me to where this fuse is, in the car? Cause I know my Hazard Switch and Flasher are 100% operational, and using a bit of logic I can just assume they aren't getting power?

Hazard/Interior Lamp Troubles
Above all else, I've searched and searched and actually have an original question. Secondly, Finally thought I had the problem cracked when I replaced the switch and flasher unit. Alas...I didn't solve it. Here's the background. Hazards and interior lamps worked just fine about two months ago. During one of my many evenings spent fiddling with electronics, two things touched near/at/around the fuse box and made a lot of sparks, I freaked out, and disconnected the battery (forgot to that time). After that event, no hazards or room lamp/map lamp. My questions are: 1. Is there an inline fuse/breaker/relay in that circuit I could've blown? All the fuses in my fuse box have been replaced to no avail. 2. If not the above...what could be causing this? Note: These are the only electrical problems the car has. I've already solved my sidemarker short and fixed the blower...hence the picture. Alas, it's almost done!!!!!!! Love my Z!

240 ITS Suspension System
Is this setup streetable? I've been looking to replace my struts/springs with something better, and might jump on this. Let me know.
-
Horrible negative camber...any (cheap) fixes?
Buy new springs and un-ghettoify your car. You'll need/want to eventually anyways, and the money spent on new springs will save you money on replacement tires.

HID Headlights w/ City Lights
Are there any ACTUAL HID conversions available for the Z car? I love the look of HIDs, and more importantly, I love being able to see at night (Had a bad accident due to poor visibility one time...never make that mistake again).
