  1. It controls the blower motor for heat and defrost along with the rear window defogger.
  2. Do the light in the clock, map light and glove box lights work? Could you of mixed the blue and black wires up at the clock? The blue wire is spliced into the red blue wire. The drawings I have show the red blue power wire going to a 10 amp fuse. The light switch should have no effect on the brake warning light.

I agree with Arne; I also bought a three core from a local shop. I could not find one with the fan guard either. I was told the only way was to get the one I have rebuilt. That option was much more expensive then the new one, and I still only had a two core.

Repairing right rear inner fender well
  6. I would bet the extra wire (in post #1) coming off the "A" post is/was the lead to a noise Suppression capacitor that has been broken. See the picture in post #6. I know the wire is blue in that picture but, on my 70 it is black. If you do not, have noise problems with your radio just remove ithe wire. If you have noise problems replace the capacitor. Take the alternator off and have it load tested. Then you will know if the alternator is bad or if the problem is in the wiring or voltage regulator.

A lot of work. I do admire the workmanship.

Having overspray on the under coating is a sign of repaint or repair. These cars are painted first and then undercoated.

I can only ask with so many members in the Oregon area why did you not ask one of us to look at the car before you bought it?
  10. After 50.00 I figured I did not need that 70 radio face plate. May kick myself later but, so be it.

I had the same problem as soon as I rebushed the butterfly shafts the idle smoothed out. It was leaking just enough through the shaft to effect the idle.
  12. I might have to show up for the Tacoma meeting on the 11th. I can throw a soft ball and hit the restaurant from here. I feel the same way about the meetings in the North end too far to go to just do business stuff. I think it would be a hoot to be part of the go cart racing against the Oregon club. I will probably join the club just need to get my schedule changed a bit first.

Did you polarize the voltage regulator after you changed it?
  14. Thanks That is the stock color (918). She is back on wheels now and we are waiting for some parts to get back to finish her up. Hopefully this fall but, will depend on how soon the parts are found and completed.
  15. The wide part of the shroud goes on the left (drivers) side. The fan is offset to the right.
  16. there should be a doubler in the tunnel for the seat belt and then one to match the other side on the bottom all the way across. Looking good I was there this past fall. Jim

Here is a wheel you don't see often. Four spoke Keystones, have been on this car since the car was new in 1970. This car has never been privately owned with steel wheels. I have been looking for a set of 2 and 5/8 " Keystone center caps for these wheels for over twenty years. PM me if you have any leads. Thanks Jim
  18. Got mine this after noon. 7/27/07 Tacoma,WA

I am in that lot also. Welcome hope to meet up with you at one of the get togethers. Truely is a lot of info on these pages and among the Northwest group of Hot wheel offenders. Ask any question it will give us something to think about. Who knows you may become one of those offenders. Jim
  20. Took a lot of thought to go ahead and get seat covers with those offending vents once again. After not having the vents for twenty years.
  21. The originals all had vents, so many of us early owners left them out when we had the seats redone. I went as far as having the center panels done in cloth not vinyl. Last week I received the replacement seat covers from Les and they do have the original style vents in them. The new seat cover vents are the same as the originals. For some reason there is an original vent from the driver’s seat still in the glove box all these years later. Along with a set of lug nuts that have never been on the car but, I bought them in 1973 before one of my cross country trips.

Jim; I would look at another dealer close to you. I bought a pair of fenders from a Northwest dealer a year ago and paid a little less then your quoted price for the pair. The OEM and after markets prices were with in ten dollars of each other. Jim
  25. They are a little expensive but, http://www.zzxdatsun.com/ and zedd findings. I bought one last year but it came from Nissan.
