Here is a litle update. Progress has slowed a little too many other summer projects in the way.

It is a clean car either way. And I too had to looked at it several times. Arne pointed it out to me. After we had left one of the events.
  5. I just have to laugh about which one is better. When I bought mine neither the 260 nor 280 was being built yet. They all have their pluses and minuses. I own a 240 because I saw the first one while working in the renovation shop and had to have one. Bought this one from my mother and have had it ever since.
  6. I would be careful using Tygon tubing. When exposed to fuel and oils over extended time periods it expands, doubles or triples its original size, completely loosing its shape gets sticky where exposed. I have not seen it burst but, have seen it collapse and seal it self off. I would still use a more rigid hose that is rated for gas, fuel and oils. I do not believe the cost savings out weigh the risk of hidden fuel problems later.
  7. Look close at the cable housing, cable and o ring are they smooth and free of mold marks? I had a slight crack in a brand new cable that drove me nuts. What do we say in the industry just because it is new does not mean it is right. If they all look good then I would change the o ring again. Good Luck

No it is all one piece. I would check the plastic piece that comes out of the rear of the filler neck they are known for cracks, it attaches to one of the vent lines.

That rubber gasket held in with three screws is the top flange of the filler tube.

The only thing on mine that isn't stock is the air pump. That will change as the parts become available.
  13. The biggest profits in my case are teaching my boy what makes cars work and the friends made during the process. I might even break even on this one financially, I am not holding my breath never was my goal.

My 6/70 are the dark color as well.
  15. Seeing the guys and cars still make it worth while to me. I think the thirty bucks is not an issue to me. I am going to spend five to six hours on the road and the money for fuel lodging and what have you. I am just not into what you think about how correct my car is. I built it for me and have owned it a long time. I have made some good friends over the years through these cars and look forward to getting together with them every chance that comes up.
  16. I will probably be down to see the guys. I don't think at this time I will have my car done by Canby. Waiting on the interior parts.
  17. I picked up all new rubber ones from Nissan and had no problem getting any of them installed.

My 6/70 has the metal emblem with the Z white.
  19. The vented hood is NLA. Part numbers for the fenders left 63101-N4700 Right 63100-N4700 per the stickers on mine.
  20. You can still get fenders from Nissan. The vented hood never belonged on a 69/70. You can get a stock hood from Nissan as well. The vented ones are no longer available. I put new fenders and hood on my 70 all from Nissan last fall.

I am going to guess it is the accessory relay on the right hand foot well kick panel. If you jumper the white red wire to the red blue wire at the accessory relay and then turn your key to on the fan should run. If it does replace the relay. There is a miss print in the wiring diagram. This fall I will get the time to post the correction.

I bought a long pigtail fuse box from zeddsaver. Sent me a pamphlet with it showing cad plated parts. I believe he is located in Vancouver Canada. www.zeddsaver.com Completely happy with the fuse box deal.

Here is the battery tray bolted in after all the rework on the right hand wheel well was completed. The wiring needs to installed, but it all fits as designed.
  24. Up front there is just the steering bearing. In the rear there is a rubber spacer that takes the place of the bearing.
  25. My car sat an inch taller with euro springs and kyb strut inserts. Not shorter. There are three sets of these springs in the Northwest and we all have either cut them down or took them back out. The ride is much better per the other owners but, I will have to wait and see on this one.
