If it has the single pulley on the crank shaft then yes it is correct for Canada. It has the correct air cleaner for that set up also.

Front frame repair
Look at the way I did the right repair under the battery and do the same up front. I used 16 GA sheet steel. I bent a lip on the bottom and welded it in place. I was careful to get the inner box rust cut out. If you were in the Northwest I would cut that one up and get a different car for a starting point.

Battery, Alternator, or other electrical system problem
I agree with Carl also check the ground to the body from the alternator. I do not remember how the 280 is wired but, this is a classic problem with the earlier cars.

Another 240Z exhaust goes NLA
Arne; Guess you will have to come up and have this local hot rod shop bend one to fit your car like they did mine.

Where do you keep your Owners Manual?
Same place it has been for thirty five years in the glove box where it was put when mom bought this car.

Rear Hatch Rust
Mine was much worse and I ended up replacing the panel and molding all the joints to stop it from ever coming back. I also treated this area with POR per the instructions and it came out beautiful. I did use the special primer and then painted over that some time the beginning of 2008.

Need pics of a stock 240Z downpipe
I can tell you I have not replaced the down pipe on my car. I doubt my mother did she was not into that kind of stuff. Original to my 6/70 build. Whether it is a Z or an N the pipe is stock. I knew I would get a rise out of some one. I was hoping to get more of a definitive answer from one of the parts guys.

Need pics of a stock 240Z downpipe
Here is a picture of 6/70 down pipe when it was out. Notice the z welded on the down pipe. The measurements matched what Mike showed above.

proud 240z owner
I am with you Arne; Find another set of these around. Period correct for me. Same wheels on this Z since 1970. Never had any problems with this rubber either. As you said Arne much better handling then with the Z was new with the best tires I could buy. But, then I again my driving is tamer now.

zs everywhere
Out of the eight I would only rule one as a parts car

zs everywhere
When I had mine out last week end I passed six s30's. Some really nice and some I wondered if they would make to there destination. I not sure about them being afraid of water since it rains occasionally in the northwest. Like Arne said they are not that rare out here.l There are eight S 30's for sale on Craig's list this afternoon.

Fierwall rust
I worked the area as flat as I could get it and then I did the finishing touch with icing.

Fierwall rust
I fixed that like these pictures. I cut the rust out. Bent and fitted pieces into the cowl area to hold the lower cowl panel . Sheet metal screwed them in place. Welded the seam so the piece in the cowl and the piece under the dash and the cowl pan all seamed into one. Welded the pieces in the cowl best I could. Same under the dash. Ground those welds flat and fit a another piece over them. Screwed it in place welded it up removed all the screws. Welded up the screw holes. Ground that all flat prepped the area for paint. I finished the inside of the cowl area with POR 15. I just poured it into the seams and let it set up. I sprayed the rest of the cowl area with POR 15 and have not had a leak in two plus years. After that cured I refinished the fire wall.
