1970 combo switch wiring
Rick you are in luck. I ordered a replacement switch off of ebay which has the a black wire on the turn signal sw that would connect to the red on the wiper sw. The one in my car the bad one has a red wire going to the red wire. The black wire in question goes to the center post of the white switch on the t/s switch. See the red wire in the middle of Arne's post above. If you want pictures of both PM me with an email and I will send you both.

problems with e-brake cable removal
Don't waste your time with WD 40 go straight to PB Blaster. And as Mark said above use a slide hammer. Never realized how often I would use a slide hammer until I got off the wallet and bought one.

Tank/Fuel leak????
Me too. I bought another tank and it is at the radiator shop right now once it is boiled and tested I will seal it with POR also.. The original was leaking out of the bottom about an inch forward of the drain plug. I hit something on the freeway fell off of a semi. Just glad it didn't come through the floor boards or impail the tank.

Filler on roof........normal?
My 70 240 has filler on top of the primer just aft of the windshield on the right side and just forward of the hatch on the left side. Under the original paint. The seams from the top to the post and quarter panels are done in lead. As is the aft eight inches of the drip rails over the rear side windows.

Filler on roof........normal?
I don't know if it is normal. Just sanded the top of my 70 this week end and it also has filler in it. A couple of places I can't see the imperfection but, I can fell it when I run my hand over it. Body guys are like the rest of us they don't do work that is not needed. Putting filler on a panel is alot of work. Scary part of mine is it has up too five coats of paint on it in different places. This is a car I have owned since 1975. I had it repainted in the early 80's. Part of them could of been from that. Jim

Opinion time: How would I have fared?
I have been driving my Z for thirty years and its size and age a not a factor when I get in it. 1970 240. I drive it when the mood strikes. I am in the process of refreshing her right now so, will be alittle while before she hits the street again. You can bet I am not building a garage ornament. So, you can see I agree with Arne. We need to be aware of whats around us no matter what we are driving. Got hit a few years ago in my one ton Chevrolet truck. No, big deal until you find out that I was hit by a Semi pulling doubles hauling hay. Nothing left of the truck. Climbed in my Z to get to the doctors office. Jim
-
Is 2 better than 1
The drivers side never had a pull assit handle. Yes the nut plates are in the door for the right hand drive models. You could have a door panel from one of those.
