  1. A first for the Pebble Beach crowd but too late this year to submit an entry — Infinity is promoting a Japanese Automotive Invitational in conjunction with the Concours: https://jaipebblebeach.com/event-details-faqs/ https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/infiniti-and-motor-trend-group-bring-inaugural-japanese-automotive-invitational-to-pebble-beach-automotive-week-300689293.html
  2. A couple of current issues feature familiar faces -- post-Mitty, pre-Monterey.
  3. Wish I could give credit and details on this one.

  5. Not "Elvis", but that Stones headlight cover should help narrow it down.

Plenty of other references out there — this one’s simply a classic: http://www.nwdatsuns.com/dtech/How_to_Keep_Your_Datsun_L_Z_Series_Nissan_Alive_1968-1986.pdf

Closer all the time to having that engine out, piece by piece ...
  10. You see that in craigslist ads that feel like the car’s sat in the yard for so long, no one’s exactly sure what it is or why it’s there. It’s like the ZX designation was just a trim option or something ... Here’s another one that gets to me ?
  11. Good catch — others spotted that, too. Innovations shows a Michigan address and Ridies is Indiana, but maybe they both work with the same supplier? ”I replaced the foam in the drivers seat and went syntheic. Covers are custom made in Pakistan and delivered to your home in about a weeks time.” https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c6-corvette-general-discussion/3942135-feedback-on-ridies-seat-covers.html
  12. Provisional entry list for the Rolex Reunion has been released: http://www.weathertechraceway.com/sites/main/files/file-attachments/website_list_6-6-18.pdf
  13. A quick search didn’t find any previous mention of Ridies but they look like a possible resource for interior pieces: https://ridies.com/Product/26040/1970-1978-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-Genuine-Leather-Seat-Covers
  14. This might belong in its own thread, but it fits here, too. This stack design goes in the opposite direction of the familiar approach, using dimples to change airflow characteristics. https://custompolycast.com/
  15. You find Norm in or referenced in several zcar.com threads on this topic: http://www.zcar.com/forum/10-70-83-tech-discussion-forum/118695-su-air-horns-velocity-stacks.html
  16. Relating to stack length, this Toyota comparison was interesting. There’s other data out there but this was butt-dyno impressions as well as real-dyno numbers.
  17. Stack height looks to be about 40mm or 1.57” from the carb mounting surface to the rim of the stack.
  18. It’s a little vague: The pre-installed needle is perfect for street and light track applications on a stock L24.
  19. Aha — looks like the “real” British SU, model HIF44 for Jag, Mini, MG, etc.: https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/jaguar/jaguar-xj6-series-i-iii-and-daimler-sovereign-series-i-iii-1968-1987/carburettor-fuel-injection-and-air-filter-competition/carburettor-and-fuel-injection/carburettors-51063.html
  20. They look like what ZCD is selling. There’s facebook discussion that this is basically the later flat top SU with a round dome that gets away from the stigma associated with it.
  21. Not sure if this falls under the “better mouse trap” or “new can of worms” heading but it seems worth knowing about ... https://roundtopsfuelsystems.com/
  22. The topic of Z homologation has come up before — this site has a number of documents that may be interest: https://historicdb.fia.com/sites/default/files/car_attachment/1486676401/homologation_form_number_3023_group_b.pdf https://historicdb.fia.com/search?key=datsun&type=car
