What was it like to meet Mr.K, Mr. Matsuo, and Katayama-san?
My boyfriend and I were able to drive down Saturday morning from Visalia, CA to attend the Z car show. We met up with a friend of mine who works for Nissan of North America in Torrance. We had a terrific time. I met 26th-Z, Kats and Victor Laury. I also was able to get Mr. K's autograph on my latest Sport Z magazine. I also had Mr. Matsuo sign it. I talked briefly with Mr. Matsuo, through an interpreter. Got a few pictures of me shaking hands with Mr. K after he signed my magazine. It was memorable and something I will never forget.

1971 Hub Caps
Thanks very much 240 in OZ. I had a feeling that the red center cap "z" ones someone gave me (and I'm having restored!) are not correct for my 5/71 car. I've seen the red center cap "z" hubcaps on 1972 Z cars but wasn't sure exactly when they went on the 1972 models. I guess I'd better start looking for some "D" style hubcaps now. I really appreciate your advice.

1971 Hub Caps
I believe this is the correct thread for my question regarding proper hubcaps for year of car. I have a May 1971 240Z and would like to find the hubcaps that would have been proper on it when new. The car had aluminum slotted mags when I purchased it in 1973 so I don't know what the original hubcaps would have looked like. Would anyone here happen to know what hubcaps would have been on my car when new? The early "D" style or the later red center cap "Z" style? Thanks for your help!

What's wrong with this picture?
My 1971 240 (May 1971 and HLS30-30222) has the exact same radio as mdbrandy. I bought the car in 1972 so I'm very sure it's original. I should say it looks just like mdbrandy's except without the radio knobs!! Anyone have an extra set for sale?

Rear Disc Conversion
Yes, that's correct, "mimzey". Nickname for me and now it's on my car license. I don't recall the specific car that displayed the brake conversion. If it was located near Pierre's booth, then I would guess it's the same one. I visited Pierre's shop a couple months ago and happened to watch Rob do a conversion that day. He explained his method (which of course I didn't understand all that well). We plan on driving our little Z car quite a bit when she's finally restored. Knowing the brakes will be beefed up, in this day and age, expands our comfort zone. Hopefully we will be able to show our "mimzey" in next year's show. I have Pierre's address and telephone if you are interested.

Rear Disc Conversion
I was at the show on Sunday with my boyfriend and we were talking with Rob from Pierre'Z. I believe the car you are referring to was his work. It was situate in front of Pierre's booth. He explained to us how he converts the braking system on the Z car. What he told us makes a lot of sense (safety concerns) and we are planning on upgrading the brakes on our 1971 240. I've been acquainted with Pierre's shop for about a year now and I recommend them for anything Z. They have always been very helpful during my (ongoing) restoration. Hope this helps.

Do you have the radio for sale? Specifically, I am in need of the radio knobs. Some idiot stole mine! Thank you.

Seat cover kits?
It is my understanding that Les participated in Nissan's 1997 Z car restoration project. He advertises his seat upholstery kits as the same ones used in that project. Might give him a call to verify.

Seat cover kits?
Les at Classic Datsun sells the upholstery kits for Z seats. I purchased a set with the new foam and strapping and they turned out beautifully.
