Im still perplexed as to how you are able to fit Z32 rotors onto a zed that has the standard 4 stud pattern?

Thanks mate. Appreciate the help. I am also interested in putting vented rotors on my zed, does anyone know of a company that sells them? Most sell only solid rotors. Cheers Ben.

I couldnt manage to pull out the axles, not that I tried very hard. I gave up after a while, it was a 38 degree summer day. Is there a special way to pull the pintara axles out? Or did u just use brute strength?

    Maybe sandblasting might help

I've never had a problem with Troy. I have purchased alot of parts from him over the years and he has been very helpful, give him a shot.

You can often find Fairlady badges on ebay motors. They aren't cheap, but they are brand new and of high quality. Im thinking about decking my 240z out with Fairlady badges aswell.

I remember Keir Wilsons GTR ran a best of 8.79 (Think thats correct) Can't believe the power that thing had, blew my mind! It had room for more improvement. That GTR is destined for 7's no worries.

Myself and S130 will be heading up to Heathcote for the drags. Albeit not in my 240z, as shes not ready yet . However I'll be happy to take the R32 skyline for a rip up! May see some of you there!

Yes, that might come in handy on my high compression NA L28.

If you would like to turbo your L26, Id say go for it! Don't listen to everyones excuses as to why it won't work, why it will be too expensive and why the parts are hard to find. Go visit ebaymotors and search for an L28 turbo manifold, they are sold all the time, buy yourself a nice t3 turbo (the expensive part), and plum it through an intercooler and then into your su's (240z kind). This setup will work, I have seen it done. Yes EFI will be better, however if you tune the carbies right (and upgrade needles and jets) the power will be sustantially higher than stock. I have a mate with an L28 turbo, it uses a custom exhaust manifold, a 45mm weber, and a t04e turbo. The setup is a suck through design (not the best in my opinion) and runs water injection. It uses a $^!# load of fuel, however it propels his 260z 2+2 into the mid 11's. Make no mistake later model motors may be more reliable, however every man and his dog is using them. An rb20det, despite good right ups, has absolutely zilch torque, sure u can get a decent 220rwkw, but what about the torque?
  12. Yes that is one awesome car. I know the guy who used to own the car down in Melbourne. Yes it does sound awesome and goes like the powers of wizz. A1 interior and body. This thing is immaculate, it is a good buy. As far as I know it is a real gtr minus the S20 engine. Presumably some jap ripped it out and sold it for some ridiculous amount. As far as the engine being Kakimoto built I believe that the sump has a stamp or sticker on it which indicates its a kakimoto engine, have a look on your car, you should find it somewhere. Well done!

No HR31's should be fine, definetely not aussie ones, they use live rear axle. Yes Z31s should work, although they have a strange LSD, wouldn't recommend them. I have seen a few z32's with R200, and as far as I know, all of them used them (could be wrong). the R200 is a standard Nissan part, it hardly changed over the years, and was used in all Nissan sports cars from early to mid 80's to present.

Depends what diff, you have/ planning on using. If you are going for an R200, then any skyline(R31 onwards-import, not local)/silvia/300zx will have a nice r200 LSD that could be used in ur zed.

S130. I think you need to start thinking about working on that 280zx before you even think about another project

Your best bet is to buy a book covering the restoration process. There are plenty on the market, ebay is your best bet, people have them up for auction all the time. Iam in the process of restoring a 240z. Iam a fair way through it, if would like any help, pointers etc, just pm me or send an email. cheers. Ben

Ah yes the old Cedric. I like old Nissans and this one is no exception. Reliabilty and smooth transport is what I would expect from a Cedric. Great cars, if only I had room for one more. Who could forget the old 3 on a tree.

Yes you guys raise some valid points. However I am just stating my personal opinion about the car. I believe that the guy could have done a better job. Iam just fed up with car modifying these days, everyone does the same thing- wreck the originals. Iam in the middle of restoring a 240z, and believe me I know how hard it is. To date I have done all the body work (replaced floor pans, thresh hold panels etc). I think people should respect the way the car was designed. If you want modern technology, go buy a modern car, my two cents worth. ciao

Yes I saw that article. I must say that I didn't like the car at all. As far as I'm concerned the guy has laid down some irreversible damage to a rare 1970 240z. The dash is horrible, the wheels do not suit the car, and the engine bay looks to have nothing original in it at all. I'm all for originality, but the guy should have just bought a skyline.
