Grandstands 11 and 15 at normally the most popular. Grandstand 11 allows a view of the start and the first couple of corners. If you sit on the "north" side, you'll also see them heading up the hill into the next corner. I personally would try Grandstand 15 as you can see them approaching the hairpin as well as exiting...(it's one of the few places on the track they can pass). That said, I haven't attended in person in several years as I refuse to pay the $$ they're asking for a seat. Enjoy the experience...
  4. Eastern Ontario uses the same setup as Nova Scotia for the cities and highways...but some local privateers have the salt box that slides into the pickup truck bed with the rear spreader... It's always best to give them room as they terrorize the mall and office parking lots...

The Rally Sport Ontario website provides links to several rally navigation tutorials at http://www.rallysport.on.ca/index.php?fuseaction=site.details&id=65 and although most are here in Ontario, you might be able to find similar information on a more local club's website.. Good luck...
  6. They drive like any rear-wheel drive sports car in the snow... put 4 snows on, a couple of sand bags in the hatch, and enjoy. Of course, if the car is lowered, make sure you're not the one opening the road after the fresh snow fall... I would suggest a good rust proofing too...
  7. I agree with Frank's suggestion for the Yokohama tires, but would also consider Toyo or Kumho tires as other choices. Much will depend on the size of tire needed and your budget...

Greg also made the "front page" of the Speed-tv.com report http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/scca-55th-june-sprints-concludes-at-road-america/
  9. The April 15 photo provided by Rob - the blue Z is Diane Dale of Toronto who runs vintage with VARAC... see http://www.whiteheadperformance.com/Gallery/index.php?cat=5 for more pictures of Diane's Z.
  10. Arne and AJ - I've been checking in regularly , and watching my PMs - but haven't seen/heard anything at this end either. GWGarrard
  11. Rust showing inside the fender well is pretty much normal, and if the frame rails and floors are solid you found an excellent starting point. Enjoy...
  12. Obviously my memory is lacking regarding the quantity :stupid:...all I remember is using a discarded beer bottle to pour the oil in...
  13. Oil in the strut casings is to reduce heat, not for rust prevention...add about 15-20 oz (i think).. GWGarrard
  14. Peter - I have a complete 2.25" custom system not installed in the barn...It is mated (?) to a 76 manifold... The issue for me is getting down to the barn...(Thousand Island Bridge area)... If Dan knows of the "card system", and just doesn't have them for the Z car, perhaps another muffler shop would be willing to lend him what he needs. Just a thought.... Regards GWGarrard
  15. Peter/Arne - So far, I'm striking out finding people locally who haven't stored their Z off-site for the season, or who hasn't modified their exhaust. One person I contacted suggested there used to be a "card system" that provided bend specifications for various exhaust systems, and if you could locate this, it might help?? I'll keep looking GWGarrard
  16. Peter - It's a difficult time of the year as most of us have tucked our cars away until spring-time. I'll ask around for you... Gordon Garrard
  17. Here's a close-up of the Vitiloni Californians unpainted... I always found it hard to keep the right side properly adjusted, and eventually replaced them... GGarrard

  20. I've used the Wheelskin covers on both our van and daily driver steering wheels and am pleased with the product. The hardest part is getting the stitching pulled tight enough. The first time I tried, I couldn't get a snug fit at the seam, so I moved outside to let the sun warm the leather cover to make it more flexible. I also wore gloves and used pliers to pull the thread tight.

My son's favourite line is "Can we get one" or "we should get one" whenever he sees a vehicle he likes...Yesterday it was a Ferrari Boxer... Maybe he hopes I'll say yes someday... GWGarrard

I believe (if memory serves me correctly) the battery model number is a 24F. I agree with Zs-ondabrain's summary... GWGarrard
  23. Andrew- Congrats on your situation awareness (not being complacent) - that's what got you out of line, and onto the side. Driving as though everybody else around you is blind and unaware of your existance is the best defensive driving tactic I know of. Well done...it saved you and your Z. And DougN - I am with you on LLCs (left lane campers) ... GWGarrard

And congratulations to Mr. Ira and company on their input to the Grassroots Motorsports article on the Z car in the latest issue. Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere... GWGarrard
