  1. I put in new SM needles in both the 240Z & 260Z. I also cleaned up the valve cover on the 260Z to remove the soot from the exhaust leak. I finished the day by writing up what I did on the intake and exhaust on the 260Z and posting it to my blog. Intake and Exhaust | Fiddling With Z Cars
  2. You need to use an agent like Bid at Yahoo Japan Auction, Mbok, Rakuten in English - Proxy bidding service or Japan Auction Agency | Bid on Japanese auction sites, Buy from Japanese online stores, Deputy service of Japan
  3. Connector 2 - Correct, it's the fuel pump circuit. Connector 3 - Choke switch
  4. I got the new 2.5" exhaust run to the headers today. Now the 260Z runs smooth and has no complaints pulling north of 5,000 RPM (on a ZX distributor). Next come the new needles for the SUs.
  5. That sounds like a good plan to me. Here's one vendor that's been around for a while: VINTAGE RUBBER - 260 Z
  6. It's the same part number in the parts catalog.
  7. No, it won't. They are separate circuits. Are you talking about the switch or the electrical connector? Either way, Dave or I can clean/fix either of those. I even documented cleaning/repairing the switch. Turn Signal Repair | Fiddling With Z Cars Not necessarily. The circuits are isolated between the front & rear. See this link: Hazard Switch ? Brake Light ? Turn Signal Circuit Analysis | Fiddling With Z Cars.
  8. Reference the factory service manual (FSM) a lot. Also, consider buying this book: How to Restore Your Datsun Z-Car: Wick Humble: 9781931128025: Amazon.com: Books
  9. So does that mean you're show up, too?

I know how you feel. I took off the intake an exhaust a week ago. Fortunately for me, a friend did most of the leaning over work putting it back in.
  11. You are going to be at C&O in two weeks, right?
  12. Yes, the bumper. The 260Z had bumpers a little larger than the 240Z, and it was further away from the body than the 240Z bumpers. To cover up the indentations in the body where the 240Z bumpers conformed, the US cars got the black rubber behind the bumper. You might be able to see it a little in my avatar.

    That looks really good.
  14. I found some non-detergent 30W in Wal-mart a few years back.

    You're welcome, Cliff.
  16. Those plugs look pretty good to me. I can't recall, what do the fuel injection bible & FSM say about the fuel pressure range?
  17. I got the air cleaner back from the powder coaters for the 260Z. I'll also be getting new vacuum hoses for the brakes today and a urethane air dam tomorrow. This is going to be a fun weekend. By the way, Guy, how much horsepower will this add?

  19. Welcome. Feel free to drop by the Georgia Z Club page on Facebook. You can find it by the Georgia Z Club link in my signature. Most of us are in the Atlanta area, but there are a few active members scattered around south of the city. Also, consider coming out to Z Nationals (2014 Z Nationals Information). It's one of the bigger Z car gatherings in the Southeast.
  20. The Ford GT40 was only 40 inches tall. I'm not sure if that included the Gurney hump. The newer car was the Ford GT since Ford could not secure the rights to GT40. Anyway, the newer car was more than 40 inches tall.

A link to the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-series-1-AWESOME-240Z-240-z-RUST-FREE-RARE-JDM-Classic-Collector-EXCELLENT-/161363819968?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2592087dc0&item=161363819968&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Either it's a garbage bid (only 33 feedbacks) or someone REALLY wants a 70 in the worst way.

    Interesting concept.

You could jumper off the red wire on the reverse switch. I would install a 5A inline fuse for it to make sure you don't take out other systems in the event of a short circuit.
