  1. Fred, The Georgia Z Club should be setting up on Saturday around the Suzuki Bridge. I'll probably park over there on Friday, too.
  2. Oh sure, Carl. Start another thread to trump the one I started over a month ago. I will be there. I have my 3 day pass. Fortunately, I live about 20 miles from the track. Are you going to make it this year?
  3. Worth? That depends upon the condition and the desire of the buyer. From the amout of a description you gave, that's about as accurate as anybody can get. Many parts are still available. Search for Roadster websites. There is an active online presence. I have links at home. I'll try to remember to post them.
  4. Hey, I figured that it was the most appropriate considering that I live so close to Lake Lanier. Some day I'll have to start fishing again. Are you going to the Mitty? I got my tickets on Tuesday.
  5. I put you back to the end of a runway. It's up to you to deal with the FAA about that.
  6. I was just editing my pin when all of the sudden, a yellow pin popped up.
  7. It looks like it's had some frame rail work done. What concerns me is that you haven't received/posted pictures of the pans near the front of the car. With the rust I see underneath the engine bay, I also have to wonder how well it has been maintained. Are you thinking of driving it back, or will it travel on a trailer? Where in Alabama is it? If you're driving, what is your planned route back? It might be handy to be able to contact board members if you need help on the way back.
  8. Send me a PM if there is anything I can do to help you.

That's not the only one he's selling: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/1061868197.html
  10. You hung out with the Lotus people with the Georgia Z Club just a few feet away? Shame on you. You should forfeit your Z;)
  11. The Mitty is less than 2 months away. It's a great event at Road Atlanta from April 30 to May 3, featuring a lot of vintage racing. If they do things like last year, you can wander all over the paddock area, too. If you're in the Southeast, it's definitely worth putting on your calendar.
  12. until

The Mitty is returning to Road Atlanta. You can find details at http://classicmotorsports.net/events/mitty-09/. This is a spectacular event with plenty of historic racing and a wide variety of car clubs present. The Georgia Z Club will certainly be there.
  13. How early of a 260Z are you talking about? I can look at my cars (73 & 74) tonight if I remember.
  14. Yes, search this site and www.zcar.com. You'll find a lot of information on the subject.

What kind of information are you trying to find? If you're looking for something like CarFax type information, it will be difficult. And does it really matter with a car that is 30 years old?
  16. Hey, I'm just a few miles away. Though my address says Gainesville, I actually live in Forsyth county.
  17. Sorry, I don't know anything about the cars other than what I posted. I'm sure I'll run into the guy again since we are working on the same project.
  18. Actually, I was in Virginia on business yesterday, and another person attending the meeting is a member of the Tidewater Z club, who owns a twin turbo & a 70 240Z.
  19. Well, that does sound like you threw parts at the problem. Did you happen to inspect the old switches to see what was wrong?
  20. IIRC, the bulbs for turn signals/running lights and brake lights are dual filament bulbs. I am not familiar with the EZ harness, so I don't know if it is wired for dual filament bulbs. You may wish to do a "stare & compare" with the wiring diagram from the FSM.
  21. 1. Did you or a previous owner change the headlight switch? Why was it changed? (Did the responsible party diagnose a fault or start throwing parts at the car hoping it would be fixed?) Is it correct for your year? 2. Have you examined the fusebox, including the backside? Corrosion in the fusebox can increase resistance in the circuit, causing a hot-spot that promotes further corrosion or even melting of the plastic in the fusebox. (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt) 3. Are you sure all of the wiring harness connections for the circuit are in place? It's not unheard of to have one become disconnected/loosened as you are wrestling with putting in new parts or performing other maintenance.

What is the condition of the water pump & the belt that turns it?
  23. Hey, Doc, do you live in the North side of town? I might be able to help you with inspecting a Z if you aren't too familiar with the breed.
  24. A bad voltage regulator can cause the battery to drain. It's easy to check, too. Just look in any repair manual: Haynes, FSM, etc.
  25. It is possible that someone may have the information you are looking for. It would be to your advantage to state the year of the car for which you need a wiring diagram.
