Looking for Z Specialist in Upstate South Carolina
There are a couple of people in the Atlanta area I would trust. If there's someone near you, @Patcon might know. I don't know if the Upstate Z Car Club still exists, but if they do, someone there may know, too.

D'oh! I missed the hint. You know I'll help. It's more a matter of scheduling than anything else.

You aren't giving us much in the way of details here.

That's not how the gauge works. As for an adapter, if you have a mechanical gauge with 1/8 NPT, you need an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/Dewhel-Female-Sensor-Adapter-Reducer/dp/B00V5Q6GME and a gauge like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HRPSJSB

Check with a mechanical gauge.

I have used these without problems. As for the spades without crimpers, I'm sure you could find some if you searched more, such as this: https://www.amazon.com/PONFY-Connector-Assortment-Insulating-Electrical Vintage Connections has a lot of bullets, too, and I have plenty in my collection. Keep in mind that what you see at Cycle Terminal and Vintage Connections might have been produced at the same plant as the ones I linked from Amazon.

[2023] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
The owner of the collection, Randy Jaffe, is a great guy to hang out with. Getting to turn wrenches on a Z and hang out with a great Z friend is a kick arse way to spend the day. The only thing that could have made it better is calling the wife to look for a part you need, and not only does she find it, she delivers it. Wait! That happened, too! That makes it a SUPER kick arse day!

Okay, it wasn't my Z, but I installed a fresh set of Z Therapy carbs on a 72 for a friend.

vintage dashes 280z
Did you go back to them and ask about it? From what I've heard from other people, they stand behind their product.

Is the 280Z auto transmission the same as the one in a 240Z?
No problem. One thing I forgot to mention is that the gear ratios of the transmissions are in their respective FSMs. I'm working in the office today so I don't have ready access to my copies at the moment.

I'm definitely not an expert on the subject, but according to https://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/power-train/transmission-assembly there are four part numbers for automatic transmissions. Of course, the gear ratios can be found in the FSMs on this site. The 73 FSM was the first that I found with AT section in the FSM. The rear end ratio is the same across all years. I can't think of a reason why there would be external dimension differences that would adversely affect installation. As for tips/tricks advice, I know I have seen a thread here or there on swapping in an automatic either on this site or zcar.com. The only recommendation I can make is to modify the wiring to the solenoid to add the neutral safety switch.

Datsun Technical Bulletins for 1969-1972 - PDF download
I actually reached out to Philip a couple of years ago on Linkedin when I had not heard from him in a while. I think @Captain Obvious may have talked on the phone with him, too. I know I miss his presence here, and I really appreciate the fact that he went out of his way to come up to my place when he was in town and showed me a lot about adjusting valves and tuning SUs. I hope he's enjoying his guitars. I'm sure he's doing creative things with them.

Thermostatic Valve needed...any idea where to get one?
The internet doesn't forget.

Thermostatic Valve needed...any idea where to get one?
Well, you might reach out to @zKarsto see if he has any more. He did 7 years ago according to this thread. To remove the broken piece, you can try heating with mapp gas and using an extractor.

You may want to download this:- Vintage Connections Prices Increasing
Many of us have used VC for electrical connectors, especially for 240Zs. They announced that they will need to increase prices in February, and they encouraged people to place their orders before the price increase. Fortunately for me, I just restocked before they announced the future increase. - climate control panel removal
