  1. There were a couple of junk characters after the URL. This should work: http://www.zcar.com/forum/10-70-83-tech-discussion-forum/295560-perils-unvented-gas-tank.html (At least it worked in my preview.)
  2. It's not just LATE 260Zs. The EARLY 260Zs used the same rear panel.
  3. That's the problem. His tank probably isn't vented now.
  4. If you are referring to the INTERIOR panel, again, it is the same as on a 280Z. It is available new from Black Dragon Auto among other places. It is held in place by rivets with a center push-pin. To get replacement rivets, you can buy them from MSA, Black Dragon, etc., or you can buy a suitable substitute designed for Fords and described here: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/49590-removing-panel-retainers-240z/.
  5. It's the same as the 280 rear panel. It also sounds like you're talking about the surrounds. I bought a set of 280Z tail lights to refurbish and use on my 260Z. It wasn't too difficult to take them apart. After you remove all of the screws, it helps to soak the tail lights in very warm water to make the sealant pliable. Then I could remove the lens from the assembly.
  6. Springs for bending hoses: https://www.google.com/search?q=goodyear+hose+bender&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=goodyear+ez+coil Now if you want OEM hoses, you can search http://www.carpartsmanual.com for the part numbers and check with a dealership if they are available. Courtesy Nissan has a feature to search to see if a part number is still available: http://www.courtesyparts.com.
  7. Most of the hoses are NLA. This may help: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/43723-fyi-fuel-tank-vent-hose-info/

Cheapest I could find for the original style switch: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240Z-New-OEM-ignition-switch-lock-cylinder-assembly-Nissan-/321568859861?hash=item4adeff66d5&vxp=mtr Answer to your initial query: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/38885-daves-new-startstop-button-ignition-system/

It's probably the turn signal switch. https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/hazard-switch-brake-light-turn-signal-circuit-analysis/ https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/turn-signal-repair/
  10. I think the track needs to do more about spectator safety. I'm guessing the setbacks were evaluated well before cars got so powerful and aerodynamic.
  11. I bought the one for my 74 from Jegs. I think it improved handling at speed, but that's just the butt dyno talking.
  12. Also, pulling the rotor is a simple way of disabling the car. Who is going to have a spare rotor when stealing a car?
  13. So, according to the schedule, you'll be at Barber on the weekend of The Mitty. You should see if your travels can allow you to meet some of the Z guys in the area. I think Geezer & Grannyknot are in Ontario, and I think Black Gold Man is in the Detroit area. Siteunseen is about an hour from Barber. The list of members could be lengthy. Announce your travels on the website. It could be a good way of getting in your Z fix.
  14. Let me know. By the way, are you going to The Mitty?
  15. I have plans on Saturday evening with some friends from the Georgia Z Club.
  16. Do you need me to come pay you a visit, Dean? I think there are some nice roads between you and me.
  17. Curtis, what gauges do you need? Or are you looking for custom gauges?
  18. It looks like you have a good starting point and a plan. That's the way to begin a project.
  19. Snow? What's that? I changed the oil in the differential today.
  20. That's what YouTube is for.
  21. The crowd sounded rather sedate. Did they get excited over any other cars up for bid?
  22. Do you or your friend have a GoPro? I watched video of my car shot from someone with a GoPro and saw how bad of an exhaust leak my car had. I also learned about exactly how bad the body roll was. See for yourself (and put it on 1080p). https://youtu.be/k6xXvITd6Rk longer video https://youtu.be/k6xXvITd6Rk
  23. I have relied I have relied upon the Internet Wayback Machine for years.
  24. Thank you, Chas. I double-checked the wiring diagram and it agrees with you that the hazard flasher has a blue/white wire. I appreciate the proofing.
  25. Chas, instead of assuming I'm right, point out what the differences are so we can double-check. With as much of an exercise as it is to do this with CAD or Visio, I admire the work done by our engineering and draftsman predecessors.
