gas tanks
I just got a quote of $25 to have my gas tank hot tanked and pressure tested. Sounds good to me, so I left it to be done. Maybe living in the boonies isn't always a bad thing.

Senior Project.
Ian, I have an L28 out of a 280Z someone gave me that you are welcome to have. It is just taking up space in my garage right now. However, I am in Eastern Wash. I might be heading to Seattle around Halloween (if tradition holds) and could get it to you that way if that's not too late to start your project. I have no idea about what shape the engine is in -- it is pretty much bare -- no efi or carbs. It looks like it could definately use rebuilding.
-
Mine is all 240Z again!
Arne, I am sure you said somewhere, but is this the original L24 that matches the car, or did you have to go with another one? I have a Series I, but the engine that was in it does not match, nor did the block that came with the car and a '72 parts car.

History International Nissan Z Car
If that was asked of me, I'd just have to say I haven't the slightest on how to rip to my computer, I had a look at converting VCR to DVD, but to be honest just got confused. Maybe I'll order the DVD. Also saw the Austin Healy one and it was pretty good too. Here's a link to the DVD. http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=72035&browseCategoryId=&location=&parentcatid=&subcatid=

History International Nissan Z Car
The Nissan Z Car is on History International Channel right now as part of their Voyages Automobile series. I've got it on tape, but I always seem to stop and watch it when it's on the History or History Intn'l channel. It's on again at 1 a.m. Pacific Time. They speak with Mr. K and have some good old footage. I'd like to get it on DVD. I've also seen the shows on Saab, BMW, Volvo, Jag, and VW.

280ZX distributor mount needed!
I've gotten some help, but still looking for the part I posted. I think there has been some confusion in exactly what it looks like so I'm posting a couple more photos with text. The problem may be the block I started with, although an F54 was pretty bare and didn't have the mount. I will try looking through the wreckers, but most of them went on a crushing spree recently and I don't think many Zs or ZXs survived. Here's the photos of the part I need if I'm reading the AtlanticZ tech article correctly:

Y70 Cylinder Head?
No problem, I knew it had recently been discussed so I did the search for you. Sometimes I search and search for stuff and can't find what I'm looking for -- just thought this sounded familiar.

Smart car
Stephen, must be a Cali thing -- I think you guys get a lot more models there than we do in Wash. State. We didn't have those Suzuki Samaris nearly as early as you guys did I believe, then all of the sudden they were showing up here new and then a bunch of older used ones came in from somewhere.

Smart car
Yes, There's a black smart car that I see at the post office a couple times a week. I live four miles south of B.C. and many Osoyoos resident have a mailbox in Oroville because the mail gets here faster they say (about 1/3 of all the boxes, the Postmaster says). Even if people in Canada are mailing things to other Canadians, it seems to get to Oroville faster than if they are mailing to Osoyoos. We get the Osoyoos newspaper a week late thru the mail even though its just a short drive away. Anyway, don't think I'd fit in one of those smart cars -- one advantage of being smaller is you can fit in smaller cars -- me, my late father's 1990's Mercury Marquis was just barely big enough for my long legs. Glad the Zs allow for my 6'6" frame.

280ZX distributor mount needed!
Mike, I don't know what happened, I copied the URLs from my ad and they worked on the ad. Just recopied and pasted from the pages themselves and they seem to work now. Thanks for the heads up, Gary

280ZX distributor mount needed!
Also, is this mount two pieces, one on the engine and another on the dizzy that it mates to. If so, then I probably need both pieces as the distributor is a bare shaft. See photo of my dizzy as is:

Splash Pans
I bid on the pan before figuring that out -- fortunately I was outbid. However, i contacted the seller with the information telling him the discription is misleading and he might get more bids from 280Z owners if he changes the ad. Most likely he'll just ignore me.
