I have a 1973 240z and it wasn't getting any gas, so I blew the fuel lines and cleaned the tank then I bought a new fuel pump and connected it. My problem is that the pump is not getting enough power. I measured how much electricity the pump is getting and it was only 0.04 volts. So I traced all the wiring that goes to the pump and I think I found the problem. the wire that I think powers the pump is connected to a relay on the passengers side. the power going in is 11.08 volts but the other three wires that go to or are coming out of the relay only have 0.03 volts. is this normal?when I test them I have the key on the ON position. how many volts should be coming out of the relay?can anyone tell me where I could buy the relay? I went to the local parts store but they don't know squat about imports. any help would be apprecitated

I am having the same problem. I downloaded the diagram but it doesn't seem to have a fuel pump. am I just not seeing it?
  3. yeah I it's probably the idle because to turn it off I have to put it in fourth gear and lower the RPM's and then it will shut down. If that doesn't work I'll try the other things thanks

hey guys/gals new to the forum, first post but I've read quite a few of the threads here. got a couple quetions that I need help on 1) after the car warms up, if I go to turn it off theirs a clunk then it will still be running, almost like its about to stall be it just keeps going, what could be the ptroblem ? running to rich? where can I adjust it if it is running to rich? 2) the car starts to overheat when the RPM's are around 2500 , if I lower the RPM's it goes back down, it does this when I keep the RPM's at 2500. no problem going over 2500, just when it stays constant for a while. any suggestions on what could be causing this? the car is a 1973 240z with a 280 block and 260 head. also I just changed the thermostat housing and thermostat because the threads were stripped. thanks in advance
