I just installed a MSA 3 into 2 header on my 73. I changed intakes to a 72 w/roundtops. No clearance issues.

You might want to consider putting a little Locktite on your waterpump pulley studs. Just a little insurance, been there, didn't like the consequences.

I rechecked the floats and the rear bowl was dry. Readjusted that float and the car runs but barely. Can't give it any throttle or it sneezes and dies. I'll play with it some more tomorrow.

I replaced the square tops on my 73 with the round tops off of my 72. Car runs when I shoot starting fluid into the carbs for 2 or 3 seconds then dies. The float bowls had fuel in them but I drained and recleaned. Still have same problem. I used a timing light to make sure spark was good and I'm on the money. Set the floats. Could the fuel pump be "weak"? I have the carbs at 2 1/2 turns out on jets, 2 1/2 out on screws. New fuel lines and filter. I'm sure it's something simple but my brain is stumbling.

I just bolted a 6-2-1 header on my 73 with 72 carbs and had no problems.

I have a 72 with the head stamped FF SP and a 73 with the head stamped FF 015 MCT. Does anyone know what this number means? These letters/numbers are on a machined pad on the valve cover ridge just next to the thermostat.

I'm in the process of swapping out my old brake lines with a stainless steel line kit. Not the flexible lines, but the hard lines. Where do I get the rubber insulators that isolate the lines from the chassis?

I had a set of shaved Comp T/As on my C/Stock 72 a number of years ago. Their used to be a Team T/A that sold discounted tires to team members. I had Radial T/As on many of my cars. Loved them. Long wearing and good looks. Although it all comes down to personal choice or taste. The saying goes "you can't refute taste" although that's open for discussion, especially when you're talking "rice".

I have an aftermarket front sway bar with a universal slotted bracket. Does anyone make a bracket that mimics stock but for an oversize swaybar?

My first Z was white with red interior. Numerous Cleveland winters got the best of the body but I stripped out what I could. Threw it all out when I moved to Phoenix. What a bone head. Even had the Datsun competition suspension. Still have the Bob Sharp sway bars though!

I had cranberry carpet installed in my first 72. Even the trans tunnel. Looked good. Sort of "wall to wall" if you will. I would suggest POR-15 for interior "under carpeting" paint. Insulation depends on your taste. Loud exhaust? Tunes? Just want quiet? Depends on what you want and how much to spend.

I picked up a used shroud in 1988 for my 240. It was metal. I believe that the reproductions are plastic. The metal one bolted up using the same mounting points as the radiator.

The 73 I just bought has wiring for an electric fuel pump but it is missing. Car seems to run fine without it. That may change when summer gets here. Should I install one? Also, the interior reeks of gas. I replaced the taillight gaskets (taillight mounting flanges warped). Hatch gaskets aren't bad. Someone replaced one of the vent lines that needs to be sealed. Anything else? I guess my daily driver idea is almost out the window. Car needs a lot of "little" things.

Did you check to see if the float is stuck?

Is the vinyl on the 70/71 different than the cross hatched pattern on the 72 and later? I received a bag of black interior parts and the trans tunnel vinyl has a much smaller pattern.

The one thing that scares me about the radiator is the routing of the lower hoses. It runs across the bottom of the gravel pan at is actually the lowest part on the car. Seems susceptible to damage.

I picked up a Green 73 on Ebay 2 weeks ago. My father-in-law flew to Little Rock to pick it up and drove ot home for me. "No rust" is what the ad said and "No Rust" is what I found. Also no carpeting, just rubber mats. Has a Griffith aluminum radiator with electric fan. Alternator bearing went out in New Mexico and Don removed the alt fan and then shimmed and bolted pulley back on. Replaced broken driver's side exterior door handle yesterday and will attempt alternator and radiator back to stock if Superbowl doesn't interfer. Failed Arizona emission test, runs richer than Bill Gates. Has flat tops. But I have a Z to drive.

My first ride was in a Orange 71, 4 speed. This was almost 30 years ago. The owner asked me if I wanted to take a ride and I said sure. We were going down a country 2 lane road shortly after a rain storm. Roads were damp. We were just about to pass a kid on a moped. He was in left lane going same direction as we were. He cut in front of us to turn right into a driveway. John cut the wheel to avoid him and we went into a ditch. Car rolled over one time and we came to a stop in a front yard. Totaled. Walked away with my elbow shredded from broken glass. Shortly thereafter I bought my first 72. It rotted out from under me due to Cleveland winters. Have another 72 in the garage awaiting a V8. Just bought a Green 73. And to top it off I was driving to a job site and saw a white early Z sitting in the weeds. I will be going back next week to see if I can get it cheap.

I have a set of 14" Shelby Viper mag wheels with new Yokohama AVS tires mounted. I want to put PBR calipers on the front so they obviously won't fit. I really don't want to play the Ebay game. What are they worth? I need to get the center caps rechromed and the wheels need a little elbow grease but I think these are pretty rare.
