  5. Yes, and Yes. :devious:
  6. sorry dude. That's why radiator hoses get all soft and mushy when theres an oil leak in close proximity to them. They are not made for oil, only coolant/water. :devious:
  7. The "O" ring you bought venom42 might fit and seems like it does the trick, but it in fact does not fit the bill for the apllication of "motor oil". It is not made with the proper chemical compostion to keep from being eaten by the oil it is bathed in. Oil eats rubber! Unless it was produce to fit in some application were said o ring was used in petrolum of some kind, maybe. Such product cost more than just on o ring to seal water. :devious:

Victor, What hassle? there is no hassle. I thought the State even suspended the 300 outta state importation tax. Which was if it has been suspended, the only hassle. :devious:
  9. Nothing like a good cheater bar and being pissed offf! It'll work every time. In the end! :devious:
  10. everything up like a eary 71 or 70. Leave the pcv, breather tapped into the air box(filter housing), vent to the filter housing, etc. Get rid of everything else. But remember to tune it like a earlier model Z :devious:

Just change the gear oil. All will be ok. Screwing with the end of the speedo cable wjere it meets the tranny is ok as well. As long as you get the square tang back in to mate with the drive all is well. :devious:

Wasn't PierreZ the other shop that Nissan Contracted to to the restos. I rember them closing to the public for a couple of years. Before the did I saw I z in the process of a ground up full restoration. It was perfect. After that I could not get anymore work done at PierreZ. This car is nice but that overspray on the vin tag in the door jam doesn't look very good. And the intermitten wipers were not offered till '73. :devious:

I hope Dawn is doing ok considering all that she has gone through. My best wishes and thoughts are still with you. hope your doing ok. Remember you have support from those poeple who looked foward to coming here and running into him. and hopefully now you! Frank.
  18. Is always that. Just Bad. Very sad that one of our Z loving members is gone. As his post and helpful commentary will be missed I can only imagine how deeply this affects Delta, my thoughts are with you in this time of grief. All of us here wish you the best and hope for your getting through this. Frank.
  19. Ok guy's so it looks like LanceM has tried the '81's ecp48 adds that they will work, if all the parts are from the same time. Which would mean that the rotors from an early maxima will work with calipers from an early ZX. But not early and late together. If this is true, and Lance's not fitting issues were due to this, the question would be "Lance were the parts you were using from early and late 280ZX and Maximas?". If so then we would be able to use the bindders and rotors from and early 1979-80/81 280ZX(T) or Maxima on the 240Z. As well we could use the binders and rotors from later 1982-1983 280ZX(T) on the 240Z. But we can not us the rotors from a late maxima and the calipers from an earlier 280ZX(T) From all the information from all the members, due you guy's agree with this? :devious:
  20. White smoke is water/coolant, aslo has a destictive smell. BLUE smoke is oil. Black smoke is rich (too much fuel). :devious:
  21. JUST LIKE A STANZA. DID YOU GUYS GET THOSE. FOUR DOORS MID SIZED SQUARE 60/40 SPLIT REAR FOLD DOWN SEAT, SUNROOF, POWER DOORS/WINDOWS. BASICALLY A NICE SEDAN FOR IT'S DAY. :devious:
  22. frank13 replied to z_boi's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
A MEMBER ALREADY MENTIONED THE ONLY REASON TO USE ATF IN YOUR ENGINE NOT FUEL SYSTEM. THIS IS DUE TO THE HIGH LEVEL OFF DETERGENT AGENT IN ATF HELPS FREE STICKY OR STUCK LIFTERS. AT THE SAME TIME THAT YOU MIGHT RUN 1 QUART OF IT WITH YOU REGULAR OIL OF YOU CHOICE, THE SAME DETERGENT STARTS BREAKING DOWN SLUDGE AND OTHER HYDROCARBON BYPRODUCT DEPOSITS. THAT'S IT, THAT'S ALL. NOT FOUR QUARTS TO FILL YOUR CRANKCASE! ONLY THE P90A HAS HYDRAULIC LIFTERS. ATF SHOULD NOT EVEN BE NEAR OR +30 YEAR OLD INTERNAL VARNISHED AND PERMENTLY SLUDGE L SERIES ENGINES. THE SAND AND GRIT IS HELD IN PLACE BY THE VARNISH. ALL THE OTHER UGLY STUFF THAT HAS GROWN INSIDE THE MOTOR FROM REALLY CHEAP '70 GAS SHOULD NEVER BE EXTRACTED UNLESS UNDERGOING A FULL REBUILD. WHERE THIS CAN BE DONE RIGHT. THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO ATF IN A ENGINE! :devious:

Where are located?? What's going offer? :devious:
  24. LanceM, ecp48, 240ZX, guys how does this look? Anything need to be added or changed from your guys experience? I find this set up much more intresting than buying one over the counter. All though that would be much cleaner. I have parts for the MML conversion. But this variant is just that much more different than the rest that have been done. Not real trick but very flexable if indeed the SX calipers can be use as well. Please add corrections as needed or any other options. Rember I am only trying to catalog this conversion. :devious:
  25. So far from this post we have the following parts list: 1) 1981-1984 Maxima {RWD} rear disc Caliper mounting brackets. Which appear to by very rare in bolt on form in the breaker yards. So new from the dealer is an option. At $50 + -. Nissan P/T 4415504S10 Adapter C (2 required). 2) 1982-1983 Rotors from the Maxima or 280ZX. this needs better confirmation as to whether both the Maxima & 280ZX Rotors will bolt right up. Also The Years. Starting from 1981 or 1982 will be direct bolt on. Gentlemen , notice I said "Direct Bolt on" Please be forth coming if any grinding are other Fabrication is needed. 3)1981-1983 280ZX Rear Calipers. Seems from the post that both ZXT and ZX Binders will do the Trick. 4)1979-1981 280ZX 15/16's M/C.
