changed crankshaft pulley now everything is backwards
If you indeed set the new chain with the motor at TDC, the bright links on the chain will line up where they are suppose to be (cam and crank sprocket timing marks) it takes a few revolutions on the motor to get these marks to line to line up again at TDC. Im not clear on what you did when you changed the crankshaft pully?? Be carelful though, the upper and lower end of the motor needs to turn as 1 unit. If you get the head out of time with the lower end you could cause damage.

changed crankshaft pulley now everything is backwards
Im not sure what all the timing components you changed, however the motor should have been set at TDC before any parts were replaced, and then the new replacement part put on without rotating the cam or lower end.

Coolant Path- N42 Block
Does the coolant flow across and through where the drain plug is on the block. The reason im asking is im in the process of a rebuild and after removing the drain plug, that entire area was blocked with old crud. Im able to open a path toward the back of the block but not toward the front.

Over Sized Pistons in l28
Arizona Z is out of the pistons to match up with the L24 rod. I called him a couple of weeks ago and the re-stock of these is on the back burner for now. Good luck.

What would you do?
I am preparing to pull my L24 out of the 73 so I can do a complete paint job. The L24 needs to be rebuilt, (bad compression) however I have a good L28 in the shop. My intentions when i bought the 240 was to keep it original, but now I have 2 choices here, rebuild the L24 or go with the L28 for a little more oomph. I am going to stick with the carbs., be it the L24 or L28. Money of course is an issue but that is not my train of thought at this point... What would you do?

problems with e-brake cable removal
I agree, looks like you need a little pb blaster in there, also you could try placing a prying tool (screw driver) at the corner of the "housing" across to the clip and try to move (rotate) the clip, just so that it breaks its grip to the housing, then should be able to pull that puppy out.

possible wet cap!
Check your throttle valve switch located on the driver side of the throttle body. If these get wet, rpm will not go above 2500. Simply.... unplug the harness leading to the switch, dry out and you should be good to go.

engine bucking help
Sounds like the throttle valve switch, (located on the throttle body). If they get wet, or bad continuity from whatever you will not be able to go above 3000 rpm. Disconnect the wire lead going to TVS.... clean and dry out the connection. good luck
