Hi, Have you tried Hoppers Stoppers? http://www.hoppers.com.au/index.html They do lots of brake upgrades, this is en email that was sent to me: Robert. First for the front. We have been trying to get the Datsun range all down pat as there is a lot of interchangability through the lot from 180B to Bluebird, 240k and earlier Skylines up to R31, Stanza ,240Z and so on it seems that the basic spindles dont vary that much on the bigger cars when they have struts.Best we can tell they all use same bearings and the caliper mounts seem to be similar in spacing etc. We have done most but havent had them all here to be sure if there are subtle differences from one to the other. Basically all our Nissan stuff is based on Ford AU3 XR8 290 by 28 thick rotors and twin piston calipers, usuallly in 5 stud Ford or Commodore pattern but 4 stud Nissan would not be too hard as we have blank rotors etc. However we never claim that we can do it until we are sure so we have to have a 260Z come in or at least a strut here to be sure. If it all fits like I think it does then we can sell the above for $990 with smooth rotors, $1150 with slotted and $1200 with drilled and slotted. Minimum 15 inch wheels required and 1 inch master cyl ex Patrol needed which we sell for $200 if required. For the rear , havent even been asked to do that to date, and the handbrake will always make it an issue, I think 300ZX have totally different type of independant rear's dont they.? regards Peter Koning So they may be an option, they also have ads in lots of Hot Rod mags. More pics showing the inlet and plenum, then the back of engine with all the bits removed even the water pipe which was later reinstalled because I found that It could be retained- saving me a lot of work. Next one showing how far the sump sits below the x-member.

Here are some pics of the exhaust after the heat shields were taken off and also the first trial fit, it didn't fit.Showing the turbo would foul the rail on left side and how far back the intake manifold is. By removing these I was able to move the engine back about 5-6".

This is my current project - putting a VQ30 DET into a 1974 260z. zcar project This engine is from a 1999 Nissan Cedric. To put this engine in I have had to remove the exhaust which runs behind the engine and the turbo to fit the engine behind the x-member. Then I will have to have new exhaust manifolds made bringing the turbo in front of the motor. The plenum had to be removed because it was too far off the back of the engine, so a new one will have to be made towards the front of the engine. I will have to make a new x-member and modify the engine and transmission mounts. These are the dimensions: From the back of the water pipe at the back of the engine to the front of the pulley bolts at the front with the fan off is 580mm. The width without the manifolds and exhaust is 610mm. The height without the plenum is approximately 700mm. I will post more photos as I make progress. There are also some photos in my photo gallery. p.s - can anyone tell me how to post photos in a thread that are stored on my hard drive?? -thanks
  12. Hey Datto-Zed, There are some photos in my gallery, yes the turbo would foul the rails, I will have to make new exhausts, plenum, x-member. I will post more photos when I get a chance. At the moment I will use the CVT trans. If you have any questions let me know. Robert
  13. Hey Drunkenmaster, I really like your brakes (front and rear), what are they off? Was there much work involved in fitting them? I am fitting a VQ30DET NEO into my s30 and need some better brakes and would be grateful for some info on yours. Regards Robert
  14. I have just found an interesting ad for an original G-nose for sale on Yahoo Japan Auction. Has anyone had any experience with Yahoo Japan Auctions? Has anyone successfully logged on and bid in these auctions? I mean from outside of Japan. This is the link. Yahoo! Japan Auction - 240zg

  22. Hi, I've seen a 240Z with a vinyl roof getting around Newcastle, Australia, years ago, it was a dark metalic blue z with a white or cream vinyl roof and mini-light copy wheels. I thought that it was very unusual.
