they are just seat covers they go over the top of the original seats with the orginal seat skin (vinyl) the seat covers have a good padding as well but they were not made for the 240K so the front side edge of the seat cover is a bit bigger than the actual seats rear seat cover is a little smaller but managed to fit them nicely! made in Philippines, got it when I went back for a week AU$200 for the set (front and rear)

I'm HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!!!! would really be interested on how to fix this issue. is there a float in the tank? maybe the float needs adjustment? is the fuel tank sender unit available in auto parts stores like repco or something cos it would be a waste of time getting the ones from the wreckers as they've been sitting there for a while.

I was driving near Logan Rd heading towards Mains Rd Macgregor and I saw this White Skyline heading towards the opposite direction and noticed straight away its got GTR grille, GTR fender mirrors, Flares (right colour) saw an old man driving it and when I went past the car I looked back and the car's got GTR tail lights, real GTR badges, skyline badges on side and GT badge as well, everything that will make it a REAL GTR!!! The car looks really clean and straight Show room condition!!!! damn should've taken a camera that day!!!

I've seen datsun 1200 A12 engine and they are using Falcon alternator rated 70-85amps (two version) but you need just a few washers and I had a look at Bosch's catalogue and Sunny B310 (similar engine with 1200 A12) have the same alternator with the 240Ks so that means we can use the falcon alternator as well?....

50amps is not much....for future upgrades like stereo, amps, speakers etc.... but i guess better than stock... I would prefer to swap in one go for a better high output amp probably like 80+ amps, it'll save me in the long run anyway.

still havent done the swap any more alternator from other car that might/will bolt on easily on 240K/L24?

there was one for sale bluebird 1968 wagon new paint engine is in good condition $400 redbank plains , Brisbane it was in the tradingpost last week, dont know if its still for sale. I was going to have a look at it but I found myself a new car.... Mazda 1300 '73 model sedan. body is a bit rough, its dented on front fender, rear left side door and dents on roof like hail dents.

Yeah my pulley doesnt have a pointer but I have the BTDC marking

I was going to check the timing on my 240K but the pulley doesnt have the pointer/mark so how do I know when it's on the right position? Yes I do have a timing gun.

The mystery switch is my aircon switch

The switch doesnt look like a factory one, just plain looking metal knob switch type. I'll trace the switch later when I finish work but I do have a parkers switch and I have a dimmer switch next to the choke switch I even have a switch for external electric antennae mounted on my right hand side fender.

is this a straight bolt on job? whats the amp rating on these alternator model?

Hi I got this switch/knob next to the hazard lights switch and I dont know what's the purpose of it. Its on the right side of the hazards lights switch below the Oil Gauge. I tried pulling it but really nothing happens. Any idea what it is?

any update or more ideas?

Mine's 77 I can't adjust the headrest at all so what I did was removed the back cover of the front seats and theres a locking mechanism below the metal bar of the headrest. So i loosen that with a srew driver by just pushing it out and pushed the two bars upwards and it came off. now I got my synthetic vinyl seat covers! I'll take photos of the new seat covers, they were originally for lancer because they dont make 240K seat covers, but i managed to fit them nicely.

I was reading my owners manual and I got two of them, one stated you can adjust the headrest and the other stated that you cant well obviously I cant adjust my headrest as I've been trying to take them off for the last two days after work. What I've heard from other cars with non-adjustable headrest is you have to disassemble the seat and somehow open it from the back and there's a locking mechanism below the two metal bars of the headrest. Why the hell did they do this? too much fu*king around to just take the damn headrest off. anyone got more easier ideas to take this thing off without damaging anything.

I'm changing my alternator, now which alternator can I use to swap the old one with a better one? 1st option is from a different car and 2nd option is a new aftermarket one. <--- reason is dont have much $$$ righ now... also I heard that its better to have an alternator with internal regulator are the 240K's alternator setup the same with the Zs cos I saw a few threads on swapping alternator also the EA Falcon is common swap for the Datsun 1200s, they came with 75amp - 85amp, would this fit the 240K too? cheers guys

Tried both headrest yesterday, moving it side to side wiggling it off but no luck, it wont even move at all. Any more ideas?

Hi people How do you remove the front seats headrest? I cant find any release button. Is it possible? I saw something in the owners manual that you can adjust the headrest lower or higher but it doesnt say anything about how you can adjust em. I want to put my new seat cover and I have to take the headrest off first. cheers

That happened to my other car with 32/36 weber, exactly the same problem the culprit was the accelerator pump in the carb was pretty worn out. Replaced it and solved the problem! But you said you rebuilt your carb already..... dont know if you used some harmfull chemicals to clean the carb that wrecked the pump? just double check that. Not sure if its the same with Z carbs though....
