I'm STILL thinking if I should sell my 240K I just cant find time and money spending on her right now as I'm saving going to Europe early next year around FEB OR just cancel the registration and start the project next year after the holiday cant afford paying two rego and two insurance

how about the 280Z and ZX? I saw a 240K 5 speed selling before for $385 i think thats a bargain but didnt have enough money then... also heard that the Z's got closer ratio than the K boxes

which gearbox do you guys think I should get? just want opinion from everyone car will be used for street/ weekend type of car

guess what! it stopped working yesterday 1 PM and i was pushing my dash yesterday tapping the clock and all of a sudden it started ticking again! Must be a loose connection! right now its in the garage and the clock is still working... I'll check the connection later there's two long weekends coming up soon anyway (AUST)

will it work if I mix and match? like 240K gearbox, Z clutch , Z flywheel etc...? or do I have to get the same parts just the difficulty of getting all the parts from one car...

Kyteler, which gearbox did you use for your swap? 240K or from a Z? just wondering which one is better gearbox... I know if I use the 240K one its definetely a bolt-on job as this was an option for 240Ks, but Z gearbox are easier to find but little more expensive and i heard that its got closer ratio than the 240K? I'm going to start collecting the parts for the swap as I organised someone to help me with the swap.

I didnt run on any potholes BUt Im pretty happy as it was fixed very CHEAP... free! and no mucking around taking the panel off.

I was heading to work this morning and I stopped my car to get coffee, turn the engine off and I hear ticking noice.... and i looked at the clock in my instrument panel and it started working! it wasnt working since I bought the car, and all of a sudden its working again! I'm happy !!! :classic:

I totally forgotten about my service manual! I got one!!! i got one of those thin service manual :stupid: thanks for the info i've got aircon but I think it needs re-gas or something I cant remember what the mechanics told me... anyway I disconnected the wire to the battery till i get that fixed (advised by the mechanic)

my choke knob goes back in when you pull it, it doesnt stay you have to hold it when you pull the knob... weird

Michael got it spot on! regarding timing I got a timing gun if you're around brisbane lachlan you can borrow it. I am using 20w/40 or 50? cant remember but definetely 20wt What is the right BTDC for the stock 240K L24 engine? is it 7 degrees? and RPM? is it 750 RPM?

I noticed something new.... 2 brake lights work when headlights are off as soon as you put the headlights on if you press the brake pedal the right side brake light goes off (both filaments)

there is something wrong with my tranny as I posted in different thread its like the reverse is slipping on slight slope. car wont move when I try reversing on a slight slope meaning reversing uphill. Car will just rev and it feels like you're breaking

yes I do have automatic tranny

Hi I'm having engine hesitation its very obvious when engine's cold when the temp gauge/water gauge is somewhere on the middle area its seems ok but still does it if you put your foot on the accelerator pedal quick like take off at the trraffic lights. I got new spark plugs carb was rebuilt/serviced last year vacuum leak? idle setting? when its cold it revs 600RPM but when its warm it seems to rev just fine changing the fuel filter this afternoon see how it goes... any ideas will be great thanks

I did checked the filaments and they are all good will check wiring later this afternoon when I go home. cheers

hi I noticed last night when I was driving another car and following my 240k the brake lights goes off when braking Headlights on 4 rear round red lights are on but when braking ride hand side brake light goes off but left side brake light works fine. any ideas? checked fuse checked bulbs all seems to be fine

the price is there... $2,500 ONO that means you can bargain the person! i've seen it my self and it looks great I wish I can get it but I already got two cars and I want to finish my 240K project
