  1. I have a set of the headlight covers that I got with the car when I bought it. They were never installed and I should have all the necessary hardware and gasket. I will pull them out of storage this weeked to take some pics if you'd like. Wayne

  5. Tex- would you be selling any of the engine internals? Mainly the piston rods and caps? :cheeky:
  6. Victoria british doesn't carry the rods, but I did order their piston, rings, and pin package to go ahead and replace all six while I have most of the engine apart. Having a parts engine would be lovely, but I definitly don't have the time to drive to niagra to pick the sucker up. I think I'm going to try and see what the price is through Nissan or start hitting up local yards. Thanks for the input, I just figured with the L24 rods being sought after for bore and stoke combo's that more places would have them available. If anyone else has any other ideas I can use all the info I can get!
  7. Anyplace besides MSA have connecting rods for a 71 240? Trying to get away with not having to pay over $100 a pop. One bit the $^!# but would like to replace all of them rather inexpensively just to get her up and running till I can do the engine the way I want in a few years.

  10. i think now with all things considered i'll go with 225/55r16 or 225/50r16. seems to be the best option available. thanks for the input and suggestions.
  11. the increase in gear ratios increases your accelleration properties. that's why you see most muscle cars with at least 3.73 or higher gear ratios. 4.11 is very common in those respects. and you are correct in the sense of "if it came from an R200 it will fit in an R200." hope that helps ya some,

  13. phred, how much of an offset on the spedo do you have due to the 225/50 series?
  14. i have a few moderate things i want to do this weekend so i'll climb under and give it a once over. I'd like to just do all the suspension and tire/wheel stuff at onceso i don't have to have it aligned multiple times. I'm just thinking it might be a combination of worn components.
  15. i was more concerned with the tire and rim combo rubbing on the fenders wells. was hoping that someone else might have this size combination and be able to give some feed back of any problems, if any, that they had. side note i got a quote for $1480 mounted, balanced, the whole 9 for the rims and falken tires.

  17. not sure.... just got it on the 7th. my first lady.... as for getting under the car, i haven't had the opportunity yet. Been too damn cold. The first things on the upgrade list is the suspension equipment (buying now, installing when i'll be able to feel my hands!)
  18. it's a side to side shake. it almost feels like the rear drivetrain is moving independantly of the rest of the car.
  19. When i tend to hit bumps in the road the back end feels like trying to replicate a shakira video... and is obviously worse at higher speeds. MSA sway bars were added by the previous owner and i've ordered the energy suspension urethane bushing set. will the bushings cure my booty shake or is it something else?
  20. Wondering if there are, if any, clearance issues with the 16X7 panasports? Planned tire size will be 215 40R16, and of course adjustable coil over suspension. Just want to make sure before is start purchasing components.

  22. I had already checked that thread, and have determined that since i'll be changing the dif gears that i won't have to goto the 280zx turbo T5. I would prefer a 280z T5 if possible to keep from having to do alot chop and weld fabrication that will start to cut into budget costs.
  23. Would like a working 5 speed in good condition along with any necessary parts for the conversion. Eventually planning to go to a 3.90 LSD mated with the tranny. Oh and information about the swap would be much appreciated as well!
