Needs a bigger car...period () What is that about a 8-10 percent grade that they are trying to go up??.... webdawg1
  2. Brad, I just saw a overflow bottle on eBay. Item #220163984160 The auction runs out on November 3rd, so you have plenty of time to look around/think about it...just plug in that number in the search block and it should take you right to it...hope ya get it... webdawg1
  3. I see them on eBay from time to time...same thing for the bracket that holds the overflow tank. Blast the bracket with your blasting media of choice and have it painted or powder coated and it should last you for quite some time...might be able to find one in a pick-and-pull in your area...found a picture showing the items required if you want to try and locate them piece by piece... webdawg1

Looks just like my 75 280Z tank...I had mine sent out and redone...so no more RUST for me...woo hoo... webdawg1

Yeah...they put out a thing here a while back on eBay stating that they were going to be doing a "Blow Out" sale of EVERYTHING...I've bought a few things from them in the past...seem to be pretty honest and all that stuff... webdawg1

Send it off to fuel tank renu and be done with it...Should never have to worry about fuel tank rust again after sending it off to those guys...consider it money well spent... webdawg1

Will, I ran across a hardcopy (Not PDF version) of the EFI Bible on eBay. Needless to say I won the auction...It also had another manual added in the back of the first manual as well ...Some sort of Electronic Fuel Injection Analyzer Instruction Manual for the J25400 Kent-Moore EFI Analyzer. Thought this might be of some interest to you... Seller also added in another small manual called 1975 280Z Engine Performance and Emission Analysis. Thought this might be of some interest as well... webdawg1

Found a link that might be of some interest the other night while doing some research on the Hitachi SWP123 A/C compressor. (75 280Z) Place is located out in Texas and rebuilds the A/C compressors found on most of the Z series cars. They can also refurbish/rebuild the A/C hoses if you want them to do that as well...If you want to get REALLY spanky...they can chrome your A/C compressor for you if you're into the chrome look... http://www.aircoparts.com/ webdawg1
  10. Shoot...I've been in so many times looking for parts at my local Nissan dealership that they just say "We'll call you on your cell phone when it comes in..." Sure helps to have a part number in hand when you go in to talk with them... webdawg1

I was thinking about talking to some of the small airplane aviation guys at the local airport and see if they could source the hoses in the correct size(s) The aircraft hoses hold up quite well...stay flexible...last a long time...etc...etc. The stuff that's was on the ducting looks like some kind of open cell material from what I can tell. I suppose you could probably use some 21st century technology and find some kind of replacement that would insulate better... webdawg1

Might want to check the fuel lines coming from the fuel tank forward. See if they might be GUNKED UP real bad. Maybe blow air thru them to see if they are clogged... webdawg1

Check out the following link for the the EFI bible... http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf That should get you going in the right direction. Helps if you have a FSM (Factory Service Manual) as well because the EFI bible makes reference to certain pages in the FSM when doing the various EFI troubleshooting procedures...Perhaps make up a check off sheet as well...that way you can keep track of what you have checked and results vs tests that still need to be done... Keep up posted on what you find as you work your way thru the system... If you keep an eye out on eBay you'll see the FSM manuals from time to time... webdawg1
  14. Sounds pretty reasonable to me...Might as well do it right the first time, and be done with it...... webdawg1
  15. Have not posted anything for a while....Here's another spreadsheet I currently have done that can be posted for general use by all concerned....Remember to make any changes to the spreadsheet(s) based on your model year (I.E. - 240, 260, 280) as there will be "some" differences between model years...but for the most part should be pretty accurate...It also helps if you have the Z Microfiche CD-Rom so you'll know what to change in the various spreadsheets for your model year... webdawg1 Fiche 140-1 Door Panel, Glass & Hinge (From Aug 73 two Seater).xls

Don't know??? Usually just copy & paste from the address bar in IE. I've kind of noticed that also....Most folks would rather just click a link and be done with it....and then other folks like to copy/paste into the address bar and then save it as a bookmark... webdawg1

If you can swing it... you might consider sending it off to be done... You can always send it off to these guys. They do excellent work... Moyer fuel tank renu at the following url: http://www.gas-tank.com/ Would never have to worry about it again...Take care of any rust issues before they come back to bite you in the buttocks down the road...so to speak... webdawg1
  18. Back to OEM (Gray) for sure....When painted the car color...it just kind of blends in with the rest of the car...When it's gray...it's kind of IN YOUR FACE...they would have to be behind you tho... webdawg1
  19. You could always send a PM directly to Mike asking for details, mailing address...etc...etc. I'm pretty sure he would be able to help you out with the microfiche CD... webdawg1
  20. I believe I saw a special tool at SEARS that helps with the stud install. Looks kind of like a socket with threads down the middle, I think it was around $30.00 for the tool. Worth checking into... webdawg1

Keep an eye out on eBay...I see them on there from time to time. I just got one off of eBay for my 75 280Z. (got a spare for when I get to the dash related stuff) Got it for about 35-40 bucks...uncut, no splices, vermit nibbles, rat poo...etc...etc. webdawg1

Check out the following link. This is the same diagram that's in the back of the 77 service manual... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=18271&d=1179229204 webdawg1
  23. I see them on eBay from time to time. Might also try your local Nissan dealer in Albany or Columbus. Helps if you have the part number in hand tho when you go in to check if they can be ordered or not...You would be surprised at what you can still get as far as NOS (New Old Stock) parts go... webdawg1

I believe that's about the 3rd or 4th time I've seen that car listed on eBay over the last couple of months...did not sell before either...I guess they'll just keep on listing it on eBay until it sells...or it turns into a big pile of RUST () webdawg1
  25. So what's the big deal?? I thought EVERYBODY named their cars... My cars name is Papa Smurf...(It's BLUE) Well...at least for now...Will be going to a metallic silver at some point down the road...So I'll probably need to come up with another name like Silver Smurf or some other Smurf name... webdawg1
