Glendale, CA Z shops for body work?
Haven't posted for a while cause I've been waiting for this parts car for about 5 months! I finally got it and am just about done transferring all the needed parts to mine. I've had my new floor panels sittin around waiting for the parts car operation to be finished. I don't really trust myself with welding so I want to get my body done by professionals. Before I go across the street and ask Sunrise Z some questions, can anyone provide me with any good locations that do Z floors professionally? Any that excel in weatherstripping too? Thanks, yoog

weatherstrip for qtr window
i started to replace my qtr windows so i can begin the doors. im kind of... or completely new at dealing with weatherstrips. so far i got the inner qtr seals onto the glass and put the metal frame back on. now i have to put the window back on to the body with the outer qtr seal. here's the question... do i put the outer seal on the window before i put it on the body? or do i put it on the body and then stick the window on? sorry if this is a dumb question but i dont wanna screw anything up. thanks a lot

Ztherapy SU's, wow what a difference
Just wondering... on average, how much power do the ZT su's give on an L28? mpg? and what would u guys prefer between triple webers and ztherapy's? i own a set of triple webers but the mpg is horrendous and i was thinking whether or not i should get SU's.

Seat mount rails
so do 280 seat rails match up with 240 seat mount brackets?

Seat mount rails
I put up a thread recently about using 280 seat mount rails in a 240. SO i was told i can, but i was wondering if i have to reposition the main seat bracket. im trying to avoid re-welding that piece because i can replace the floor panels without moving that piece. If i do have to reposition that piece, does anyone know where i can get new seat mount rails for a '71 240Z? thanks

350z vs 240z
=( i wanna get mine on the road already. i finally put in my illuminas w/ ground controls and can't wait til i start owning my town of Glendale, CA...if anyone lives close by, please join me in a bounty hunt for hondas. no offense to honda lovers, its just the kind of people that drive em. they even abuse the beautiful G35's and 350Z's. anyway, i'm sure it was exciting to be headtohead with another Z.

240,260,280 ignition keyswitch
Don't know if there have been any topics posted about this, but i was wondering if the ignition keyswitch system and doorlocks can be interchanged between the 240, 260, or 280's. I see a bunch of sets that are off of 280's and mostly 280's at junk yards, but i have a 240 so BLEH. appreciate the replies, take care, thanks.

Choke 'em Webers!
I apologize for not looking too far into this forum but just to make things quicker... I own a '71 240Z with an L28 using triple webers. I was wondering if anyone has any hints or pictures showing the easiest way to hook up the choke cables. Thanks everyone.

Welding floor panels sealed with Por 15?
Before you read: I am such a newbie. =( My apologies for interrupting the thread subject, but reading about all this still gives me so many questions. My '71 has a huge rust hole on each side and I'm getting ready to replace with the new Zedd panels that i just got. Only(or many) problem is that i don't know jack about floor panel / body care. My head is so mixed up, maybe because i'm only 19 and not ready to deserve a 240z but im in love with it, regardless. If anyone can write out or link me to step-by-step instructions and care for welding in floor panels. I tried to understand the whole wash/rinse or whatever but the terms like "POR" and "spot weld" and "self tapping screws" and other terms throw me off. Please help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Zedd Findings?
So my '71 240z has the usual major floor panel rust and now that my suspension is all about to be put in, I think I should start welding in new floors. I've been looking at this site www.datsunzparts.com of Zedd Findings. Researching through other Z forums, I hear a lotta good word on this company's floor panels and that they actually distribute their parts to MSA. Would you guys agree to me purchasing floor panels from here? If so, I got another question. The rust is directly in the center of the floor panel and doesn't seem to have spread beyond it. Should I still order the Floors and Support Rail set or just the Floors?

280Z housing on a 240Z :(
So i finally ordered my struts and bushings, getting ready to order the springs. as i was taking off all the old suspension, my friend realizes that my strut housing is from a damn 280z. i got tokico illumina struts: the fronts are originally for the REAR struts of a 77-79 MR2 and the rears are the FRONT 240z struts. Sounds bizarre but after researching i found out these would be a good combination for the rate and height that i wanted. BAD NEWS would be that the moron who had my car before decided to stick 280z housing onto the 240. My question to any of you that can help, if i decide to keep the 280 housing... is there any advantage to using 280z housing? and if i still want my height to be as i planned (F/R = 1.5"/2.0" shorter than stock), what would be a good combination of tokico illumina or koni externally adjustable struts? if this is too confusing to understand, please PM, email, or AIM me. i need all the help i can get if i want this car on the streets before summer.

Stranded... need a dash!
so i finally got suspension: koni adjustables w/ ground controls. i need a dash but i can't find anything anywhere. theyre all dash caps/covers and whats the point if i dont even have a dash!!!! i'm looking for a decent used dash for a '71 240z, couple cracks are fine just no earthquake sizes. i live in the LA area pretty close to Glendale, CA. if anyone can provide some resources or advice i'd really appreciate it. thanks

Needy 240Z-G man!
i love ZG. i need to learn photoshop. therefore i practiced using photoshop by making a wallpaper of my dream. i know it's not great but it's my first.

Needy 240Z-G man!
Thanks a bunch for the advice, guys. I really appreciate it. I know the G-Nose project is going to be expensive, but I AM willing to spend what it takes to build a good replica. It's my dream But if my ZG plan melts, then I have no problem in getting MSA flares. Personally, I don't feel like making bondo flares cause I DO like the bolt-on look. Well since you guys made me feel positive about the GNose project, I'm gonna look into it some more. Thanks again!

Needy 240Z-G man!
So I'm lovin' the 240Z-G look and I'm willing to spend the money on all the Z-G parts to convert my 240Z. One problem though, I don't know any good sources for these parts. If I'm goin' Z-G, I want it all: ZG fender mirrors, ZG flares, ZG wing, and of course ZG front conversion. But if my ZG plan blows out and I decide to stick with the Original look, what do you guys think about bondo'ing some Motorsport Auto flares? I mean I like the bolted flare look but I also like the other way.

getting a 71 240z
280's come with carbureted or fuel injected. personally, Z's are precious and i look into the body more. try to see if the body's really straight, ask for any accidents it's been through, and especially ask for any areas with rust. these are old cars and weren't made with the greatest metal back then. know the mileage or how long ago the motor's been rebuilt. etc, etc. good luck with everything hope you find more useful info.
