I fully agree with everything you said. I just don't want to take out a regular policy and get screwed by the insurance co. if something was to happen to my newly redone car. In that case the insurance co. would be the ones being unfair.

Interesting..... How can they determine where you were driving the car? I mean unless the accident occurs in your work parking lot or at the Walmart..... I wouldn't be driving it there anyway. Sounds like to me both Grundy & Hagerty give some double talk. I wonder how they are to deal with when it comes claim time.

From Hagerty's website: No Mileage Restrictions. Our flexible usage policy allows for an occasional leisure drive, not just to parades or car events.

John, I was told you couldn't drive it to work. But I was told pleasure drives were OK. I would think a trip to dinner would fall under a pleasure drive. I have narrowed it down to Grundy & Hagerty.

Hagerty quoted me $271 (2500 miles) vs. Grundy $254.50 (unlimited mileage). Both were agreed value of $15K.

Sometimes one carries OEM and the other a repro......

Contacted them and they wanted to limit my cars value to $7500. I told them I wanted an agreed value of $15000 and they declined...... :surprised I'll contact Hagerty & Grundy next week.

I also checked into Grundy and they don't limit your drive mileage. $15K value for $248/year.

Now that my '78 280Z is nearing completion I am looking into "agreed value" coverage of the car. Probably somewhere between $12-$15K. I am looking at being able to drive it once a week and it will be garaged at all other times. My son has 4 years before he'll be old enough to drive it. My normal car insurance is with USAA and I have a clean record. On line quote from Hagerty is $218 - $259 per year. Sounds pretty good to me.
