RoopZ, Your first choice would be? I suspect most modern paints will do fine if the prep is good and the painter know what he is doing. The Diamont just seemed to have the best color match of the three we had to chose from. The paint was mixed by the same guy with the same formula. He sells all three brands so he really doesn't care which I picked.

RoopZ, I take it that Diamont is a high end paint.

No one used BASF Diamont paint before?

Looked at three samples of the Nissan 611 paint code all the same formulas but in 3 different paint brands Dupont, Diamont (BASF) & Spies. The Diamont was far and away the best. That's what I went with. :paranoid:

I went to OEM surplus and ordered a NOS air cleaner assembly for my '78 280Z for $114.97 shipped.

Do the 75-78 280Z use the same air cleaner? Part #16500-N4200??? I have a '78 280Z.

It's this: I bought this one for my '78 280Z. DE-05 Air filter replacement schedule decal 1975-1981 $8.00 Banzai Motorworks has them for sale. He has some for the diff year Z's.

You'd think if she was getting out she would sell everything off. I'm sure we would have helped her out.

So she just deserted us..........

Dang. That's alot of info. I am surprised no one has done this for the 240-280Z's engine bay. You know engine block, air box etc. I am sure the knowledge is here. I just haven't found it in one spot.

dhoneycutt, Samething happened on my '78 280Z. I called MSA and they reimbursed the money it took to have the additional work done on my car.

Cat, I had them leave them off of my car while being redone. I'll see if they haven't trashed the pieces.
