Vapour Lock Definition
My 78 280Z exhibits some bucking but only below a half a tank of gas. I has been explained to me that the fuel hose in the tank may have a hole in it and when the fuel gets low it starts sucking air & fuel. I fill the car up & it runs fine. The gas tank has been redone, fuel filter cleaned etc. The only way to fix is to pull the hose and basket by drilling another hole in the tank. The fuel tank seems to be a weak point on these cars especially when the car isn't driven much and allowed to sit. I have been told to keep the tank full when storing.

What model Z do or did you own?
I have a 2003 350Z PPW Track version and we are currently redoing a '78 280Z 5 speed. I always wanted a 240Z-280Z since HS. Most of the mechanical work is done. Painting is the last big thing to be done. Going to paint it the original Wine Red Metallic.

Carpet Kits... MSA or Vic Brit?
People I have asked say the kits don't turn out as well carpet put in by a pro. The reason I went with the seat/foam kit is for the OEM look. The shop will install them. He would have redone the seats without the kits for $500 total. I provided the kits for $398 shipped plus $100/seat labor. ('78 basketweave black with replacement foam)

Carpet Kits... MSA or Vic Brit?
I ordered the seat kits/foam kits for my '78 280Z from Midwest Z. I have a local trim shop lined up to do the full carpet for $350 installed. He'll also install the seat kits for $100/seat.

Need HELP with rear quarter panel replacement... please!
Here is my rear quarter panel rust spots under the gas door and the bottom of the panel too. I hope this can be fixed without cutting and replacing the whole panel. What do you guys think?

Best sounding 240/280 exhaust
Just ordered the MSA Motorsport 6/1 header coated with the MSA 2.5" aluminized turbo exhaust system for my '78 280Z. It has a leak in the stock manifold and exhaust in pretty bad shape. Can't wait to hear the new pipes! Got the MSA system for $414 including coated header and exhaust shipping included. Hope I made a good choice.

Need HELP with rear quarter panel replacement... please!
Glad your Z turned out well. I am looking for sources for 280Z body panels specifically the right rear fender. I have rust at the gas door and the panel down below it. Suggestions.....I guess one is to cut that panel out and weld in a rust free one. The rest of the car is rust free.
