2-4-T-Z-MAN, I'm looking for around $1500.00 dollars. The sum of the parts is worth nearly that much. It would be a great deal for someone looking for a easy resto or a daily driver. Mike, I've moved the add to the classified section, thanks.

After much thought I have decided to part with my z. I am located in Boone, NC. Deascription: goods: -bran new uninstalled full dash cover -comlete energy suspension poly kit with less than 500 miles -set of taillights that look like new -kyb struts with less than 500 miles -very nice grant steering wheel -suspension techniqes springs -zx distributor -mandrel bent exhaust with header -5spd -very strong l-28, no smoke or leakes -have factory installed ac with small compressor -3 peice spoiler(the good one) -msa rear fender flares -all glass is good -not rust free but not bad -dual webber dgv carbs that work great not so goods: -car was parked for the witer on my icy driveway and my brother hit it at less than 5 mph which slid it into the truck in front of it. The resulting damge was a smashed rear bumper, rear valance..in the front the left cowl was bent up as well as the hood. Good news is that the rear quartes seem to be ok. Otherwise the body is in pretty good shpe. The battery tray was quite rust so I remove it planning on finding a donor car to replace the metal with or maybe just move the battery to the back. Car ran great when parked at the beginning of the winter. very strong. It never left me stranded although I didn't drive it much. Needs a break booster although It stops fine without one. I also have various z books I will throw in. No reasonable offer refused. I promise it will be a good deal , must sell quickly! will try to post picks soon. dan mtdripo@yahoo.com
  4. Well thanks to all of your advice I think I did a good job with the ins. co. After a further inspection of my z the damage is not as bad as when it first appeared, guess this had something to do with the fact that after it first happened I was in a very negative mood thinking I would get like a grand and a salvage title. Anyhow, they started with an offer of a very trivial amount and no salvage. After I told them I was willing to wait as long as it would take to get what I thought was fair they changed there tune. They came back with an offer of 2k and I snubbed them, told them I would call the ins. commission, guess it worked because ten min. later they called me back. I was after $3300 and no salvage title and we settled with $3000 and no salvage title. Thanks yell, you guided me through this perfectly. Dan
  5. Bad news, my car was parked for the winter and uninsured, the insurance I mrentioned was the other driver's ins. It looks good though, adjuster came by today and took a bunch of pics, he says with the rare situation of the car it will take him a few days to get the prices on parts, etc to come up with an estamate. Does this sound good or bad to yall? Thanks, Dan
  6. funny g-nose, I too am scared at what the tally on purchased parts may be. yall have been a great and speedy help, no wonder why I love this club so much. WISH ME LUCK, adjuster comes today and he better be ready, I'll fight this one for the whole year if I need to. Thanks again for all your wisdom. Thanks, Dan ps yall are a true group of good people, thanks again!
  7. Hey yall, Thanks for all the useful info. Unfortunately I bought most of my parts on ebay (maybe pal-pal receipts are obtainable). Keep in mind that it is not my insurance that will be paying for the damage since my neighbor hit the car. Does this change my position? All I know is I have over 5k in the car and at least 100 hrs of enjoyable work, although it’s still “work”. Installed all the Polly bushings, springs, shocks, and did major carb and top end overhaul all in my ”free” time. Keep the info coming folks; I feel I’ll need it. Thanks, Dan
  8. Hey Guys, Well, my baby got damaged the other day and I am seeking advice on how to deal with the insurance situation. The z was hit from behind and pushed into a truck (icy driveway). Rear valance and bumper destroyed, front: hood destroyed, fenders all out of whack and buckled, right headlight cowl destroyed. Has anyone dealt with ins. companies in this type of situation before? The car was a a great daily driver, 2500 spent on new suspension less than 3000 miles ago, interior restoration half way done, rebuilt l28 w/ dual Webbers. The ins. co .is progressive and they said they use their own appraisers as far as damage goes; this scares me. Any feedback ASAP would be great. Thanks, Dan

I've looked at those portable garages..can't affor one this winter. I've looked around on the net and the prices for simple waterproof car covers is quite steep. I just need a one winter solution as cheep as possable, thought one of you guys may have a source I over looked. thanks. dan

I am running the gm module conversion it works great. I used a piece of aluminum from a local machine shop, but before i got that piece I used a galvanized piece of steel. Just use that dielithium grease on the back of the module. This is your ground, then make sure that the surface that you mount your contraption to is a good clean chassis ground...dielithium grease helps here too (the module will fry instantly without a good ground). If you can't find the module try advanceautoparts.com, I think they ship worldwide and the part ws les s than twenty bucks. Hope this helps. Dan

Carl, i asked this question a few months back and you suggested the permatex #2, thats what I used and after abou 3500 miles I cheked it out and it seems to holding fine. Thats what I'd use Ed.

I'm sure that all of us fortunate z owners that live in snowy climates go through zpression in the winter. Salt, the ultimate enemy of the z, keeps my love off the road untill at least two good salt washing rains into the spring. Waiting for the the rain to do it's job is terriable as well. Battery acid being the second worst enemy, while off topic had to be mentioned. Still looking for anyone out there that will cut up a doner tray area for me....anyone?
