what type of sealant
Hello all, While cleaning the inside of my valve cover the other day I noticed some of the sealant that covers all the seams as well as the screws on the removable metal peice (oil splash guard correct term?) on the inside of the valve cover had began to fall off in about 1/8th" sized chunks. This can't be good. I cleaned all of the remaining material off and removed the metal peice to clean behind it while the cover was off. Does anyone out there have any idea what this selant may be; it does not seem to be rtv due to the fact that it was hard and crumbly. Would high temp. rtv work for this? Any info is greatly appreciated. Dan

proper vacume line setup for dual webber dgvs
first, i now know that the metal pipe comming off the block is a ventilation pipe so i installed a vavlve cover breather at the end of it. second, the pcv valve that is mounted to the vacume rail on top of the intake im not to sure about. i installed a t and ran the lines from the pcv to the air filter assemblies third, crankcase ventilation, was planning on installing similar brether as ussed on block ventilation does this all sound like a proper way to set this thing up? thanks, dan

battery tray & inner fender parts needed
Great! I'm in the middle of a winter storm, may get a break in the weather in the next couple of days and I'll measure it then. I'll try to get my hands on a digital camera and post some picks as well. I don't think I need a real large section, from my recolection the firewall is solid. I do have a roughly 2 inch (visable) hole in my inner fender directly below where the battery tray used to be, I'm afraid this hole may be just the tip of the ice-berg though. Thanks Again

battery tray & inner fender parts needed
Very interseting, that thought never even crossed my mind due to the rareness of RHDs in the US. Anyone out there have acess to the mentioned part? Don't need it today, but I would like to get my hands on one before this summer starts. Thanks for the info guys.

battery tray & inner fender parts needed
I seem to remember reading about replacemnt battery trays somewhere but I can't seem to find the thread. Does anyone know if this part is available aftermarket wise? If not, any suggestions other than finding a donor car (without a rusted tray) and swapping it out would be welcome. Also need a fix for front inner fender (under tray battery tray). Battery acid has a vicious appetite! Car is in great shape rust wise other than in the mentioned areas so even a pricy fix would be worth the $, but I need the parts and can't seem to find them anywhere! I'd hate to have to fab up somthig out of sheet metal, my skills in that department are not quite that developed yet. Thanks

saved a z needs yoour suspension help
ok ,yall seem to be the most helpful group of z nuts i've ever had the pleasure of reading from. me being a nut as well i guess i shold know this stuff but, ive never really dealt much with suspension; im more of a stock guy, but the 72 240z i saved is far beyond that already so im taking on my first modidfied project. the insane previous owner heated and cut the origional springs (the car is about 1"- 2" off the ground now) so, being on a limited budget, i purchased some used springs;12" st 103# rear and 11" st 175" fronts. Now, after reading yall's discussions for hours, I am wondering what you would reccomend, remember i'm on a TIGHT budget, I do about my strut situation. I am at a complete loss when it comes to this and any info would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I love the feel of pebbles as I run them over, but I live in the mountains with some bad, but fun, roads. I want it tight but i have to navigate some pretty interesting pot holes. thanks dan boone ,nc
