someone suggested plastic bags, the motion and noise is suppose to distract them. i dismantled the nests and put the bags up. now, wait and see.........

tried new battery- did not work. even had that battery checked to make sure it didn't have a bad cell. i guess next is a new soleniod then new starter, or should i just get both and be done with it.

first off i checked the battery conections. the clamp to the kill switch would wiggle a titch so i tighten it up. problem remained. then i removed the switch and hooked up directly, didn't help. now i'm in the process of charging a newer spare battery that i will try tomorrow to see if that works. 3 year life span for a battery?? wow, i would expect more use that that.

recently having problem starting my zed. turn key and the starter will whizz. i have to try a few times for starter to turn and start car. i had the same trouble before with the wife's 68 mustang. after replacing a selinoid on her car i found out it was a dead cell in the battery. replaced battery and problem fixed. i'm thinking, ok i need a new battery for the zed. i have an optima red top that's 7 years old. had it checked and it hold 400 amps which is half of it's output. does this mean i need to replace it, or should i try replacing the selinoid first? is 7 years on an optima a reasonable life span? ( only used 6 months a year) ps- the po put in a new starter just before i got it in 2005, so i don't think it's the problem

just got back from cruzin in the zed. took a few cranks of the key and a few pumps of the gas but she fired up nicely. didn't even have to charge the battery. i have a kill switch on it so as not to drain it. a heated garage helps too. i a happy :classic: camper now!!

the 240z was ment to be. if u didn't buy it someone else would have and that zed would probably be in rust heaven. btw-nice paint job.
  15. nice lookin zed. odd that the mirrors were switched out when new. also the fan shroud isn't original. as for the vinyl roof, yea...yuck! maybe u can strip the vinyl and restore to original.
  16. what perplexes me is putting all the effort and money into this project and selling it less than a year after it's done. obviously this was a labour of love and commitment but i would have driven and enjoy it till the thrill factor wore off, if that's possible. now there may be reasons for selling and it's none of my business but it must break his heart to sell. after so long the zed must feel like part of the family.
  17. i have a spare cap for a 72. PM me your mailing address and i'll sent it out. not the best shape but it's free.

basicly wanted low profile. normal jacks won't go under the zed or wifes mustang.

bought a new floor jack yesterday on sale $119 ( regular $159) plus tax. it's a 1.5 ton which is heavy duty enough for changin tires and oil. it'll only go to 15" high max and is low profile. not sure if this is high enough to get jack stands under. i was using my brother's 3 ton jack but it barely lifts the wifes car to change tires. had to pump many times to get maximun lift. hope it holds up for a few years, these jack don't have a good reputation for quality.
  20. i find the high intensity blue head lites very annoying even at low beem. usually found on expensive vehicles. i'm surprised the ministry of transportation would allow them.

on a certain auction site a seller has a hupcap which in his description says is left untouched so as to prove it is not aftermarket. is there such a thing as an aftermarket hupcaps. i've never hear of or seen them before. ps- referring to 240 d or z caps
  22. quite the fleet. u should sell off a few and get a 240z just a suggestion.
