i bought a 73 tr6. driver- 10 footer - needs tlc a price i couldn't refuse. $3500 not bad for rust either. drove it home and it purred like a kitten. has O D mileage unknown pics look better than it is but after i washed the dust off not too shaby don't worry, the zed is still my baby and won't go neglected.

the biggest enemy of the dash if the uv sun rays. it will deteriorate the vinyl. although my dash is in perfect condition i got a rug cover on ebay cheap and use it. your sun shield will protect when parked but while driveing the dash is exposed to uv rays. to hold in place i use these clips with magnets.

i'm guessing ATF means automatic tranny fluid , but what does IIRC stand for?

replacing power steering lines on wife's mustang. it was leaking red fluid which i presume is transmission fluid. should i replace with power steering fluid or should i use tranny fluid that was in it to start with? thankyou very much in advance.

been sailing the great lakes on a commercial fishing tug since 1981. boy time flys when your getting seasick. the hours can be long and somedays u make a pay and some day u don't. work on shares, no fish no money. it's not all honey. the pension is a hardy handshake and a fine farewell. can't complain though, i've been able to save enough to by a beautiful zed. ps only sailors get blown off shore.

i emailed seller and asked for the vin #. he responded at 8;12 am this morning (45 minutes before auction ended) . the vin # is HLS-60354, # 31 of 37. there was no 30 after the S.

how come the hubcap centres are blue? did u do that?

would this be a vinage fob from the era or an aftermarket fob?

i got 26mpg hiway.(4.5 litre gallon) the #s i see here are like hummer mileage.( 12,13mpg) for a vehicle that wieghs only 2400lbs you'd expect over 30mpg. my brother-in-law has a 95 eldorado and he claims 28mpg hiway. don't make sense.

could this be caused by fan clutch leak? i did a search and tested fan with cardboard and it stopped fan, thus not siezed. when rev engine there's not a whirlwind of noise or wind. i'm thinking fan clutch is ok. i noticed last fall just before i put in storage that there was specks of oil on underside of hood but not there everytime i drove it. i put cardboard under car during storage and no leaks. doesn't use oil.( although hard to tell because i change oil once a year before i put it away and drive under 2000 miles pure season.) never have to add oil. i can't recall if this gunge was on the motor when i bought it or if it's gradually accumulated over the last 3 summers. tiv

many years ago i bought gas and only got 1/2 mile down the street and car quite and wouldn't start. had it towed and the cause was water in gas. i went to the gas bar and complained but they told me to prove they were responsible. fortunately a friend of my parents worked for the goverment that had something to do with different types of fuel storage and regulations. he had one of his workers go dip their tanks (underground) and sure enough they had water in their tanks. they had to pay for my cost of emptying tank, tow and fuel. i don't know if it's just a coincidence that it happened just after u got gas or not but bad gas was my first thought.

report by b. mitchell carlson 1973 datsun 240z coupe. s/n hls3077430. orange/black vinyl & cloth. odo: 131,463. presentable older repaint with a smattering of touch-up nicks.small paint crack forming in the middle of rear hatch below latch release. original bumper chrome weak and dinged, light remenants of overspray on under-carriage. aftermarket performance open-styule dual air cleaners and spark plug wires,70's vintage indash marantz am/fm/cassette deck, heavily worn vents in dash. correctly reupholstered seats with little wear, door panels have some light warping. cond: 3-. not sold at $7000. rerun on sunday, a no-sale at $7500. the excitement about first-generation Z-cars of a few years age has cooled down quite a bit since, and while this was a generally decent example, it was a long way from being worth the $12k reserve. either offer was repectable if not somewhat generous.
