right, but what i guess i was implying was that when i try pushing in the pins to expand the rivets, the rivets wont expand at all because it feels like they are already confined to a real tight space. this is what is leading me to believe that the rivets might not belong there at all so im trying to figure out if the original hardware were rivets or screws.

im just doing a little refurbishing on my z and noticed that the rectangular panel under the hatch is attached by 4 screws and 4 black rivet clips, but none of the rivets have the little pin inside of them. i tried inserting the pins but they simply wont go all the way through. even if i try forcing the pin in the rivet, the pin will bend or break before it makes it half way through the rivet hole. does anyone know, or could anyone check to see if rivets or screws were originally used to attach the panel to the hatch? these pictures might give a better idea of what im talking about

ok so if you are gonna go through with that, i think you should take your sister to dinner with you, that way he cant blame you for being irresponsible. and when he does call, dont sound bitter or aggressive, just say that your girlfriend or her family wanted to throw you a little dinner for your birthday and then wait for his reaction. let us know how it goes

i ordered both the master and slave and ill replace both of em as recommended. thanks guys

the resevoir for the master cylinder was a little low on fluid so i added some more and continued to pump more but it still wouldnt work, does that signal anything?

a few days ago my clutch master cylinder went out, or thats at least what i think. i would have to pump my clutch a few times and then it started working again for a little while then i would have to pump some more. the next day it got much worse and the pedal feels extremely loose and it doesnt matter how much i pump it, it wont work anymore. i think its my master cylinder, how can i be sure though? also, do i need any special tools for this operation or just socket wrenches? thanks marc

speaking of fuel pumps, does anyone know the correct hose that should be used to connect the fuel tank to the fuel pump. after i replaced the fuel pump on my car, i had a hard time starting the motor. i think this was because the fuel pump hose was bent in a way that wouldnt allow the gas to pass, just like a garden hose when its twisted. the hose is very soft and easy to clamp when replacing the pump. is it meant to be like that or was the original hose one of those thick "L" shaped hoses or something?

i wasnt around when the 280zx was born, but in 1979, did people actually find that car attractive? no one today will admit that they prefer the 280zx body style to the original 70-78. were things different back then? datsun didnt realize that they were making a horrible mistake with the new design or what...

your right it wasnt the fuse. the emergency flasher connector was loose. thanks for help!

i had this same problem a while ago. it was the clutch pedal that had become loose. it just took a little adjusting and it was back to normal.

i was thinking it was the fuse. im out of town at my buddys house right now and i have no fuse box cover so i dont know which one is for the blinker but there is a 2 amp fuse that looks a little burnt. could that be the one?
