South Australian numberplate, but in Moreton Qld. And he has a Spanish email address. Hmm. I'm guessing he's just waiting for everyone to bid it up. It's only got 2 days left though, but it was listed only today.... we'll see! (I'll be watching it I'll tell you that much!!)

OOooooh be careful Bill! I think Rick would rather you say "When you need advice, turn to WISE people." Much better

    I think they're just gorgeous
  5. It's gunna be one TOUGH restoration job for whoever buys it... why do I get the feeling that the person who wins the auction won't know that, and the car will end up sitting for quite a while longer? I want to see this car LIVE again, as we all do I'm sure. Anyone want to have a guess at how much you might want to sink into her to get her up to scratch? :stupid:
  6. THANKYOU!!

  8. Do you mind sharing with us the final price? No probs if not, sounds like a lovely find you've got yourself there. Can't wait until you fit a V8 into it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 :tapemouth
  9. Bit of an oddball car, the "Coupe" is just brilliant...

That's pretty low inflation for 14k to turn into 15k in 10 years, let alone the appreciation of the ever-dwindling parts...

  14. Yahoo Japan only needs your user ID to view an auction AFTER it's ended. The dash fascia went for 11500 yen. That's about $145. I stole the picture from the auction and attached it here in case you wanted to know what it looked like I think it would have been a good buy - it looks to be in near-perfect condition. Of course, a common thing the Japanese did was take the faux woodgrain panel off, and spray-paint it silver. Doesn't look exactly right, but good enough from a distance. The set of badges (also attached) went for 3700 yen. That's about $46. They were missing a few pins on the back though... Finally, the spoiler went for 4200 yen, which is about $53. Definitely second-hand, but for the price sounds like a bargain! Unfortunately for us, it's the shipping which kills...
  15. Some nice stuff on Yahoo at the moment isnt there! Thanks for sharing! Pity is, I've already got the dash fascia, and Skyline rear quarter badges Missing those darned GT badges though. It wouldn't be such a problem, but the GT-R "GT" badges were actually red. Yellow was the 2000GT-X, blue was 2000-GT and the rarest of all - green - was from the 2000GTX-E. If I remember right... If you're after some side "Skyline" badges, the ones from the C210 are ALMOST identical to the C110 ones. And you can find C210's everywhere (relatively). In fact, there are a set of the Skyline badges (and a spare!) on ebay at the moment: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2486617642&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT See if you can spot the difference Edit: What's a Vidiot????

  17. "I saw a Datsun 120Y today. That's like your old car, right?"
  18. Hey, better he's just a kidnapper and not a cold-blooded killer! Someone please pay the ransom, let the child liiiiive!!!

Bill! The ones next to the bonnet are vents- half correct! They're more than that... but anyway, I'm asking what the little compartments behind the front wheeeeels are for! And does any other car have them?
  20. Next time, if you just link to the files instead of posting the actual pictures, then it's probably more efficient. But damn, dont take it like we're all complaining - thanks for posting them up

Oh Rick mate, I know what they're for!! A very knowledgeable member here mentioned it a long time ago (thats a clue ) Here's a picture showing the little inspection flap/panels... I wonder if they have a PROPER name? http://earth.endless.ne.jp/users/a_yacchi/collection/limited/tolimi21-2000gt.jpg

Looks perfect! Now, howsabouts some nice, thin bumpers? Remind me, is the 810 the same shape as the 200B in Australia?
  23. I'm not being too serious there, Alan.. I just like to ponder about these things.. it's good fun imagining the history of something - accurate or not! I was under the impression new Watanabes were always pretty expensive, but if they were used as pot-plant holders..... well I stand corrected! Thanks for your input

I'd have no idea what a "K car" is, so I guess it's to do with local car culture as much as anything else...... D, E and M work for me! Here's one: The Z is known for having neat (and finicky) little inspection flaps just next to the bonnet for the battery and brake fluid. The Toyota 2000GT had similar flaps, and also had little compartments behind the front wheels. What are these compartments for, and are there any other cars with a similar feature?

That's very neat! When I went over mine, I used a silver pen and that worked a treat - but your method would get the *correct* look!!
