Happiness is an Exhaust Tone
Maybe it would be a good idea for a feature - everyone could record a 10-30 second wav/mp3 of their car and send it to mike with a description of their system, so that users who are looking for a system can hear which one they like best?

Electric aerial...
2MZ I took the last one apart and fiddled with it for DAYS... currently I'm just summoning the patience to deal with it. Peter I think Australian regulations meant that the 240z didn't need them. They didn't need the rear uglifiers either... The 260z got them however. Japan was similar I think?

Electric aerial...
The problem is beyond that. My last one broke because of some computer error where it went up but upon coming down didn't want to stop coming down. My current one has the problem of not going up or down (it's about 1/20th of the way up). It sounds as if the teeth aren't gripping.

Electric aerial...
Who would have thought such a trivial device as this could cause so much stress. When I got my car the aerial did not work. I boguht a new one and put it in. After about 3 or 4 months it stopped working too. I bought ANOTHER one today and put it in and it all worked and everything was dandy. I turned the radio off to see my beauty go down and it did... a little TOO much. Now this one doesn't work either. IS there some trick I dont know about?! Is 80 AUS bucks a pop not enough to get a damn aerial that WORKS?! This is REALLY starting to wizz me off.

Seat rocks
Mmm... perhaps they worded it in another way. Perhaps they were the first to offer it as standard on a car? Or perhaps they meant they were the first to offer it as standard on all of their models? Not sure...

LHD 240Z in 1969 TOKYO auto show
Not at all! You'd be surprised how many younger people don't know that... I guess most of you are talking from an older person's perspective. I think maybe it would be a good thing to introduce a new perspective on this - one from a 18 year old Datsun here for younger people is either an old company which made crappy ecoboxes (jap-crap, anyone?) or a little-known japanese company producing amazing cars which changed the world. The ones with the 2nd opinion own Datsuns. It's a pity that when someone asks what my car is I just say "240Z" without the Datsun, for fear of them snickering. Many people I have talked to about Datsun/Nissan didn't realise they were the same company. I guess most people I talk to weren't around to see the name change.

Seat rocks
Well, someone told me I was supposed to have Hazzard lights at some point in time, however when I went to Beauliea just last week there was a Volvo display which said that they invented Hazzard lights in 1972... so that would explain why mine doesn't, and yours too (if its a pre-1972 model at least) Any more thoughts on this?

OOOOH, am I naughty or not??????
LMAO you're mean !!! Good one! ROFL I think a lot of people would say the E-type is prettier. Not trying to be unloyal or whatever but personally I find them absolutely gorgeous. The Z is too, but not nearly as heart-stopping IMO. I can't say I like the styling of the coupe 2+2 though

My new tip
From the album: 1971 Datsun 240Z
2.25" mild steel all the way back with a single Lukey muffler and 3" chrome tip to finish it off. Sounds lovely, but without any sound deadening it's a bit too loud. - My Z

My newly stipped wipers
From the album: 1971 Datsun 240Z
Stripped off the black paint some bozo whacked on some time in the past, cleaned them up with metal polisher and they've come out like new. Just one more step towards originality... -
