That's really interesting, I didn't know "mirror tint" was available back then. It has recently made a sizeable comeback - quite a few cars are running it, along with the new fashion of COLOURED tints. Yes, green, blue, pink... you name it, we've got it. Personally, this is a question I have been pondering over for a long time with my car. Not so much in regards to value but in regards to LOOK. I love the look of a classic car with clean, almost invisible glass. It does make a car look much cleaner. On the other hand dark tint makes a car look more agressive. Tint will also protect the interior better, but also could be dangerous at night. In regards to tint and its affect on value of a Z. I guess you could always remove it, but I believe a properly restored "original" will look better, and be viewed more favourably without tint. That's my opinion anyway.

No, these cars are not the same as the 120Y. They were never officially sold in Australia. I think they're quite cute actually. But then I like the C110 so who knows what's wrong with me.

Hi Fayez, I agree - why are 240K's so popular in Kuwait? Very few left hand drive C110 cars were made. It would be much easier to find a RHD car and convert it, or drive it on RHD registration.
  4. Sounds like you need a wiring diagram! Hope this helps.

I just came across this eBay auction in Australia: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4651574320&fromMakeTrack=true I was wondering if anyone could shed light onto this? Did Nissan actually make body shells to sell as SPARES? I have never heard of a NOS body shell before... I am not refuting his claim, I'm just seeing if anyone here has more information.

Please note that the one Gavin posted is the earlier model (KE10 Cherry), rather than the later F10 Cherry. I think they are fantastic! Kind of like a miniature C110, if you squint hard enough. I believe Alan has some photos of the racing version X1 in his gallery -in the Nissan Museum I think. Very weird to see it pop up in a yard in Australia though! I wonder how much he wants for it. It sure needs a fair bit of panelbeating........
  8. Do you guys in the US get the Mazda SP23? Keeps it in the family, and quite a good powerplant to start with from what I hear. May be a bit expensive though being reasonably new. Or an SR20 from a Pulsar GTi-R. being 4WD not sure how easy a swap it would be though.
  9. Also I agree with jmortensen. eBay is a VERY tempremental selling medium. I have sold a lot of things over the last few months and have seen this for myself. It really depends a lot on not only your description, but also starting price, picture quality (as mentioned in another thread recently), and the time and day you list it. The rest is up to demand... and luck!!!
  10. Definitely a little tense, but he does have a point. All too often you hear Z guys going on about how their Z's aren't worth much and they really love it when they see one sold for a lot of money... but at the same time, winge and moan about the price of parts. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Though I don't think that really needs to be pointed out when you are trying to sell something.........

The Fairlady 240ZG came in GP White, GP Red and GP Maroon. GP Maroon was a special colour for the 240ZG (paint code 116). Are you sure it is the same colour as one of the "other" browns, Eric? Which one? 301? Hopefully Alan will see this thread

Looking good, the only tip I would suggest (I'm not a professional artist) is instead of "drawing", try sketching. Lots of smaller lines to get more accurate, smoother lines. And make sure you have a smooth surface underneath the paper.

FANTASTIC!! What sensational footage. I just love it. Without guys like you Eric & Stephen, this kind of stuff is near impossible to get a hold of. It truly is the generosity of members that makes this a great place to be involved. So thank you! Also, this is an open invitation to any Australian Skyline enthusiasts who may be reading this and would like to see what the fuss is about. If you would like to see the DVD, please send me a PM.

Carpet will do a very good job of protecting it. I just can't stand carpet on dashes, personal preference. I hear the same thing all the time about Amourall. It's difficult to find anything else in stores though. Thanks for the suggestions Miles, I'll be looking for those products ...

Great article. Thanks for sharing!! What a job.

Nice! Saves a bit of money, that's for sure. Any pictures? Just hope that this one doesn't crack a few weeks after you take it outside. :nervous: When I got my car it had a tiny little split where the speaker holes were. Now it's a nice wide open crack all the way down. I use the windscreen shield wherever I go, but there's only so much you can do to prevent what is essentially a poor design for our climate. As your car will not be a daily driver I guess it may not be such a problem though, so that's good.

If you read my post, or actually used the search function like I suggested you would hae understood my response. Fact is you opened a really big can of worms with that question. The "handbrake" position is one of the very major points in the "Was the S30Z designed with RHD or LHD in mind?" discussion. Some people would be happy with the answer, "Becuase that's how they were built." Other more curious people would want to know why, and the implications of that decision. That's why I used my big bad axe, because I had thought you might be the inquisitive type. Whenever this question is raised (it has a few times in the last two years, by the way), it spawns a discussion. All I was attempting to do was keep this topic on-topic. Personally, I hate it when people drag topics off-topic. So with that in mind, please forward any more hateful words you have for me through the PM system. Sorry for mis-judging your character.

NO!!! Please use the search function! This question has been debated to death. What a great idea for a cafe. The prices don't look too bad either. I love the pictures of the Roadster, with the cherry blossoms in the background (I'm no horticulturist though so please correct me if I'm wrong!) Download the video too!!
  19. Great Article Arne! Well done, maybe now people will start to PM you instead of me when doing this with their Z-car!

Wow what a response. Thanks so much everyone who has had their input. I think it is a really great discussion that has really got me thinking. I hope it is beneficial to others too. I agree with the majority here, that it's got to stay a Nissan straight 6. No logical reason, just that anything else would feel rude. There is so much information here already, heaps of great stuff for future reference. It's probably a good while yet until I do anything, but it's always nice to talk and think about these things. Peter (440K), nah mate it's in the pipeline, I had two final interviews this week and another next week, so hopefully at least one goes through. Then I'll probably be very busy with it - just hope I still have some "play" time, or worse yet, lose interest.
  21. Great pics!! Thanks for sharing Both of your cars look sensational.
  22. Alfadog replied to Alex 240Z's post in a topic in Open Discussions
I do. After someone suggested that it was a waste of time I ran for a bit without it, but that was not a nice experience. Lower power and the engine just felt 'coarse'.
  23. Alfadog replied to Alfadog's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
I've probably got a couple of them... and I know the parts car that Peter now has has one. So plenty to go around! If I can find one you can have it for whatever it costs to post. Unless you can find one closer first I guess!

Yeah I don't think it was because less manuals were sold, just that the cars that tend to survive this long are automatics. I for one am glad my car was auto. It had a very easy life! Well until I got my dirty mitts on it anyway. No idea what this guy is trying to do. Not sure if he does either.
