  1. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-1600-sedan_W0QQitemZ4625302516QQcategoryZ102220QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I thought they were worth a fair bit more than that for a nice-ish stocker?? Granted it has no transmission but otherwise seems fairly complete. Could be a bargain for someone closer ...

Wheels look great, but I'd have a look for something similar in the right stud pattern to avoid headaches... Make sure the offset and size are correct too of course. What a gorgeous car from Norway! Tell me, is that chameleon paint?
  3. Sorry Jim! My spelling of cigarette brands is not too flash Thanks for the pics. I only wish I was a bit older when they dominated down under...
  4. Sorry, what?

    You're crazy
  6. Thankyou! The R380II definitely needs to be in that list IMO, as well as some early Mazdas but while the magazine stays an American publication I guess it's understandable the cars they pick. If it were in Australia no doubt they would have the Malborough R32 in there up near the top. A top 50 would be nice... I would like to see what a Japanese publication would choose. Has Nostalgic Hero or something similar ever done a "list" like this?
  7. ...and huge, chrome wheels.
  8. I agree with that sentiment Eric. I would add the Calsonic R32 aswell, and and and.... so many more. Thanks so much for the pictures too. Can anyone shed more light on the "1968 Toyota 2000 GT Carol Shelby race team, focus from Fords to Toyotas in the 60's" I know little of this, basically only that they existed! Did they ever win?

Yeah Eric, they are very similar in design but the Laurel is quite a bit larger
  10. Wow, I would have thought genuine works wheels would be worth more than that. Thanks for the link and information guys

Here's one to show that they CAN look good! http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m20338033
  12. What??? I can't help you with your carbs, but if your boy has a Z there will be less chance of him "stealing" yours and maybe - just maybe - he'll grow an interest in making cars better rather than breaking them. Or maybe not... in any case it'll be a bit of fun for you :knockedou
  13. I think he meant a topic reserved just to share C110 related links... and in that case, no there is not. Feel free to make one if you like and I'll sticky it. And yes, the webmaster of that site is in Kuwait IIRC, he is a member here too
  14. Yup, this is important! It is also mentioned in my guide......

http://www.clearcorners.com And for anyone wanting an LED conversion on their standard Z lights, check out these guys. Awesome work. Anyway, they probably won't have anything there for you bemmerguy but you might like to email the webmaster Mike and ask if he knows where you might find some. He will probably be helpful.
  16. No, Miles posted that one.. I posted one that was printed on www.drive.com.au (original source Courier Mail Motor section I think). No one replied so it would have been easily missed
  17. You have to almost feel sorry for him. I am sure he has no true friends. No morals. No life. This is the kind of guy you hear about scamming his grandparents for the deed to their house. Karma has a funny way of working. I'm sure a few of you would sure like to hurry it up....

Alan, a girl who laughs at car related jokes ... that's lucky!! Those with the least to say tend to speak the most. You know that! Try to ignore it... I assure you there are MANY people who appreciate your explanation here and elsewhere. I was thinking similarly to Miles in that how much of the pronunciation is accent? That's rhetorical! I'm quite content knowing how to almost say it. Now I just have to start adding the "ah" on the end on Porsche.....
  19. Hi FairLaddyZ47, I posted a large article explaining the whole process here - http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20145 - which may be of some help to you. NOTE However that this is for a Datsun 240K, not a Z. They share the same engine and transmissions are very similar though, so most of it is still applicable. On Page 3 I have listed the costs involved
  20. Yeah it's nice, fits nicely in the palm of your hand. About 2" in size. It's the exact same shape as the original knobs, but in metal. Now I just have to source a outer gearboot. Will just try to get one made up at a local auto trimmers, otherwise back to Yahoo Japan I go!

What's the go with the dodgy music? I wanted to hear more engines! Very nice video. Except for the end. Not cool.

In Australian English Datsun tends to be pronounced "Da- doh" (with 'a' in 'da' sound as in 'cat' and 'doh' the same as 'dough') Good topic! Why not get the pronunciation of "240Z" correct while we're at it? :cheeky:
  23. Not over till the fat lady sings, with centre console installed. Here's the latest - a NOS inner rubber boot from Japan! Could not find one even 2nd hand in Australia so with my good friend Miles' (sakijo) help we organised this! Fits perfectly, looks great and now it's a LOT quieter inside! Thanks Miles

Not a movie, but in the game Command & Conquer: Generals there are civilian cars that I'm sure are based on the 240Z.

We Are Lovin' BRE! What a coincidence both being named Carter - or are you related?
