Auto>Manual Conversion - what to replace?
Stephen - thanks, is there a way to know if I have a B-type 5-speed? I have the blue parts car now so pedals, master cyl, lines etc. are all there. I'm mainly just looking for what is worthwhile to replace while it's all out. Mark - First, welcome to the forums! It's good to have someone like yourself who is obviously very knowledgeable about these cars to help some of us out. I have my auto car and a parts car that is manual. Does the tail shaft have to be swapped over? Speedo cable should be the same if I keep the same diff, shouldn't it? I will get the spigot bush from Repco, thanks. In regards to a clutch kit... two heights - which is the one I need? I have the master and slave cylinders in the parts car too so that should be OK. Good to know pedals are easy to swap in! Thanks for the info. If anyone else has anything else to add I would appreciate it!

Auto>Manual Conversion - what to replace?
Hey guys, OK so the auto to manual conversion is looming (I am planning 1st or 2nd weekend of January) and in preparation I'd like to gather up all the bits that I know I should buy/replace. So far I would consider: - Clutch - Spigot bearing (from Nissan?) - Flywheel (get it resurfaced somewhere probably the best bet?) - Clutch alignment tool (need to buy to put the clutch in properly, yes? Available from any Repco/Supercheap type store) Does anyone know where I should/could buy these parts from? I'd prefer good quality stuff - a meatier clutch if not too much more expensive too. I heard there was a good and cheap clutch man in Brisbane? Should I get anything else other than those 4 things? How about some device to drop the gearbox onto once it's unbolted? Sorry if these questions are really simple - I've never done something like this before and I don't know anyone who has so you guys are all I've got. Like the collective father I never had

Where to get 240K gearboot?
I'm converting my 240K to manual soon, and as the gearboot currently in the car is all ripped up I'd like to replace it. Will a Repco/Supercheap universal gearboot fit nicely? I'd rather not frankly, so is there anywhere that sells vinyl replicas? Failing that, anyone you'd recommend to make something up? The gearboot I have is tatty, but could still be used as a template.

Pad Size on C110
How did you go Tom? I recently bought new Bendex Ultimates - DB86. Same as the 240Z / C210.

Tornado to close for comfort.
Geez, that's a bit close. Must have been scary... good to know you're safe though Imagine if the guy's truck broke down on the road somewhere, in the hail and possibly tornado... he's pretty lucky too.

77 v8 z car on ebay: scam?
This is an increasingly common scam. They take pictures of cars being sold (on ebay and otherwise - sometimes even asking for MORE pictures) and then sell it again later - but now it's mysteriously in another country. scam scam scam

Help! Late/Early model 240K front bumper differences??
Hey Jeremy! Nah, a toothbrush and soap is all you need for the lenses. Timely to bring back this topic though actually! I am currently having all my stainless steel trim for the front and back straightened and polished up - hopefully it will look good, fit right, and not cost a bucketload. They are being done in Brisbane at the same place Rob (Razor) had his done, as he had nothing but praise to say about them!

Opinion time: How would I have fared?
Hey mate, a good discussion took place in this thread : http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17881&page=1&pp=15 a while ago FYI Anyway, I have a hard time digesting the comment made by Arne about air bags being designed to supplement seatbelts. Seatbelts were invented first, and the only country I know of where you get to choose whether you wear one or not is America. So air bags were invented to protect those lazy/macho Americans who chose not to wear a seatbelt - at the cost of everyone else? I believe air bags were designed to complement seat belts.

Real FIA race car #26 on ebay !!
OH, that rang a bell. So this was that car you showed me pictures of? That's incredible, I never put 2 and 2 together. In fact you probably mentioned it crashed in a Scottish rally. Ahh it makes sense but I feel bad now for not remembering - how do you remember all this information!

Ride of the day...
Very lucky! Your injured hand & exams reminds me of a time I went to an exam and accidentally left my fingers in the door as I closed it! D'oh! If you've ever closed a door on an Alfa 164 you'll know what I'm talking about when I say it HURT! I could hardly hold the pen in the exam. Good to see you're taking it in stride though - an accident is bound to happen some time, lucky it didn't roll! Good luck for Saturday!

WTB 240K Prefer 2 door cash buyer
Gerry you wouldn't want my parts car unless it was for bush bashing or a rally car - besides I have already given Mikey from America first dibs on parts. He's taking all glass except windscreen, rear brakes, headlight buckets etc. etc. It's also very rusty, bogged up, and has a smashed in rear end. By all means you can come and have a look at it but just dont get your hopes up!!

repro tail lights for early Z
There is a guy in Australia putting c110 Skyline lights on his Z, it might look good But from what I have seen I agree with Gav - best lights are the stock ones! Here's a quick photoshop for the clear lights... imo, yuck!

Real FIA race car #26 on ebay !!
Thanks Alan, I thought you'd be the one to chime in with more info about this car - it's just unfortunate that it is not as special as claimed to be. Still a very exciting car I think, and the story is great. Anyway Alan, you could always buy it and then squelch this rumour/misinformatiion?? Looks like the true story is half there now though - Though from what little I know about the Works cars transferring over "ALL" parts would be difficult, if not impossible!

Real FIA race car #26 on ebay !!
Where is Chris Wenzel? This is amazing. Do any of our members know the history of this car? It's very early - but is it a real Works rally car?
