  1. Thanks for sharing. BIG SAD FACE for [ WRC ] the silver 240 with an orange stripe. Used to be beautiful, the wing ruins it! I think you were telling me about that wing.. I guess if it does what it's made to do it's worth it ... Who's silver 240K? Looks lovely, the Watanabes are great, just wish he hadn't stuck silly looking skyline stuff on the back :| But otherwise pretty nice, I would like to have a talk with him! BTW LOVE the blue 240z. Is that Bayside blue?? Looks fantastic

I look forward to the other pics. That one is odd... Never seen fender mirrors on an export 240K before. Hmm!
  3. You're putting flares on your Z????
  4. Hey Miles, yep, the C110 came LHD in Europe, and I believe some were sold in the middle east too. C10's also came in LHD for Europe!
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4589631156&fromMakeTrack=true Looks like an honest original! Needs a bit of paintwork to look proud though, wonder how much the reserve is...
  6. Tell you what mate, I cant beat that. But I know there are people in this world who could (and I know you know that too, you're a well travelled man). Your story reminded me of when I was recently in Ireland (Belfast) and we saw what went on there. It was pretty scary. Can you imagine how kids grow up there? No wonder the hostility isn't going away... Anyway, here's the picture you reminded me of! This was in one of hte real hotspots - there was broken glass literally all over the ground. (P.S. Don't take it the wrong way, not trying to nullify your story or outdo you in any way, just putting some perspective to the thread )

My friend who is in Japan at the moment is going! I hope he takes lots of pictures.

Hi guys, Really need to sell these now, so I can start saving again for extractors that will fit. :disappoin Try finding a cheaper set - $100 has got to be a bargain surely? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4588309942&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  10. Writing that sure makes him look like a better driver though, doesn't it. Maybe the book is trying to approach the Z from the whole "underdog" perspective? Or maybe just the "Moreton really was behind the success of the 240Z, God bless America, hoorah, oh and dont forget Goertz! Anybody but the Japanese!" perspective. Dunno, just guessing
  11. Welcome to the forums!! It's so great to have another member, especially one from so far away. I am sure we will be of great help to you and maybe you can help us out too Please feel free to post more pictures of your beautiful car in your gallery. Money talks Bill!!

Hey Tom, are you saying that the 240K extractors you got were also worth $300? That's good to know if I end up getting some over here...

It's ok, it's not actually a C110... A pity all the same. This "craze" has started to leak out of Japan too. People here are starting to want "bosozoku" cars themselves... sillY! Though after watching a video of a C110 I couldn't help but grin. Just so silly! Does anyone still have that video?

English money is pounds, and my brother had some buyer who was going to buy his old Peugeot for similarly crazy money. Guess what, the cheque bounced. Scamtastic. If something looks too good to be true, it usually is!!

Chris is on the mark. It was a large series of commercials that continued the whole "Skyline of Love" theme - ie the car was built for enjoyment and living comfortably. It was a tremendous success in Japan, and as such the car got nicknamed "kenmeri" or "Ken & Mary" Skyline. Similar to Hakosuka or Godzilla, though their names were less romantic... Alan told me that the actors for Ken and Mary in the ads changed a LOT, though Ken seemed to change more... here is a picture, this is the "Mary" that I think Alan has the hots for!! :tapemouth

Kyteler knew too... looks like everyone knew but somehow nobody looked when I asked!! Oh well, the Z extractors are on ebay now - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4588309942&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 - hopefully someone bids, let alone bidding as much as what I paid for them :-/ Pete, I would love an R32 steering rack. That's the worst thing about the C110 IMO, the steering! I think I'll leave that idea alone though for the mean time

Just wanted to post a note here to confirm that 240Z extractors will not fit a 240K without serious modification. Reason being the steering gets in the way. Recirculating ball as opposed to rack and pinion. I found out the hard way, $270 worse off, let's see if I can sell some Z extractors.

Eric, you haven't been concentrating! Mikey is the new owner and is a member of this forum. He posted pictures of the completed engine swap recently. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19369

Congratulations on your new car! I don't mean to be picky but this is a comment that often gets posted by new members and is not correct. This was roughly the 1,399th left hand drive 240Z ever produced (assuming no large gaps between VIN numbers). RHD (no L in the VIN) 240Z's were produced in parallel with the LHD versions. There was most likely an HS3001399 too! And a PS3001399. And an S3001399. Some excellent information resides in this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13073&page=1 The above is my understanding of the situation.. if it's incorrect please correct me!

Is it just the over-the-top body modifications that create an illusion, or has this car also been "chopped"?
  24. Unless you want to restore yours, there's not much option for a concourse car! Looks like these might be going to the UK.
  25. This is so awesome Mikey, and the colour looks sexy as. I'll reply you via email after I've had a proper look at all the pics
