Took some early morning shots before work........
Agreed, it's a fantastic photo whether it was just "snapped" or not!! Sorry for reading you wrong, just that from the 2nd picture it doesn't look like there's anything down there but it definitely looks like there's the standard bump-guarding black trim at the crease. Now, sleepy-z, got a high res one of the 3rd one for us??

RB25 240z - Australia
Ah, excellent. That's pretty much what my tips look like, so good choice BTW, that steering wheel is off a 240K if you didn't know (& want to know)

Took some early morning shots before work........
I think Enrique meant some black rubber trim going along horizontally at the same height as the door handle - and I'm pretty sure you have it!

The 240Z in Wangan Midnight movie (screens inside)
Interesting, I always thought it was based on a "240Z" (though it's really a Fairlady Z we'll keep it simple) but if you look at the picture showing the tail lights it appears to be a "260Z".

280ZX vs 280Z vs 350Z
Hi Bruce, A lot of our American friends DO own 280Z's - they got a 2.8 litre six in the S30 bodyshape. Got big fat bumpers with 'em too! Just before the 280ZX came in... of course, there are also those who call their 280ZX's 280Z's... I don't know what that's about! And yes, I think the 350Z is an extension to the "300ZX line". It's all a series, just that with this later one they changed direction a bit. Things change... in the right direction in this case!

Dare to be different. Looks like an awesome job, tasteful and classy looking... but I can't help but feel these cars look better with the roof on.

Restoration Spreadsheet(s)
Not at all! If you want to track the cost of a part, you have to track the FULL cost. If you're only tracking partialities your grand total is pointless. OK, so maybe I wouldn't include the petrol or beer but still

Felt to slide against the windows - how to replace?
Thanks Warren! I tried but unfortunately no luck, and nothing suitable from the generic bunch. Good idea though, would have worked if I had a Z . Will let you know what happens -

Hey now, heres another new guy
He's a total tosser, but our Aussie teen girls love him... must be how he wears crumpled suits and has girly hair. Anyway, hi!

Restoration Spreadsheet(s)
Meh, all in one file = better. That's why you can do it. But doesn't really matter, more of a personal preference I guess. Just trying to offer a constructive improvement.

Andrew G! Is that really you? Can I ask, how do you keep your hair ever so shiny and soft?

Felt to slide against the windows - how to replace?
This is not 240K specific, as IIRC the Z (and most other cars) are the same in this respect. Glass scratches. You may recall I posted a while ago asking if there was any way to repair those small streaking scratches that are barely noticeable but really annoying for the car owner. Well, it's only getting worse, and the cause must be this felt that rides against the window when rolling it up and down. I thought I'd see if I could replace this stuff. I've included a couple of pictures and a diagram (the red part is what I'm talking about) to let you know what I'm talking about. I bought some stick-on felt stuff from a hobby store and have cut it to fit (shown in one of the pictures). This looks like it might do the job, but I'm worried about how waterproof it will be, whether it will hold any junk, and the extra pressure it will exert on the glass seeing as it adds an extra 2mm to the part. Note that the rubber part and felt (at least that's what I think it used to be) part are one and the same. Has anyone tried to fix this before? Ideally I'd just get a replacement for the whole rubber part, but I wouldn't know where to start to find one of those... So anyone have any bright ideas? And before you say check the parts car, those are just as bad. Thanks!

Restoration Spreadsheet(s)
Just an idea - if you put all of the sheets in the same xls file you will be able to do some neat stuff with totals etc. and also have it much more organised - well IMO anyway. Nice though, something that I would definitley use if I restore a Z.
