Short Video of my Z
aww! Like Will, I was waiting for the action! It's still an awesome car George, even though it seems as though it's spending a lot of time off the road, I still think it was a great buy. Can't wait for some action shots. Just make sure not to idle in the garage too long - cough cough!

Britsh Tourist Kills locals and a Zed.
U missed a U, and I'm doing a business degree so what do you expect?? Of course you have to take the comment with a pinch of salt. That's what broad statements are for - to give a view of something in general. To compare cars in different segments is unfair and proves nothing. You use the same class - for example, I'd rather be in a new 5-series than an old one, Statesman than Kingswood, 350Z than a 240Z, a Smart car than an Isetta. Fact is, and you know it, safety technology has gone up in the last 30 years and as a result the large majority of cars on the road today are safer than what was on the road back then. That's all! I'm not being controversial... obvious if anything!

If there is a better looking Zcar, please show me.
Hey Gav, pop-rivets, not allen bolts! And I agree with you 100%, the best Z would have to at least look period correct. IMHO

Welcome to the sunny Gold Coast!
I'll second that Ben. It is just another catastrophic weather event to support what scientists are saying - global warming has already started and has started much sooner than expected. At this rate it is only a matter of time before we start seeing very serious and irreversible weather pattern changes. Anyway, I live on a hill so the house is fine (though we had some drainage problems in the morning with leaves covering drains), and my car had carb problems a couple of days ago so I have had her in mum's garage for the last few days, she's dry

Welcome to the sunny Gold Coast!
In the last 24 hours we have had our next 3 months worth of rain, 590mm but it is slowing down now. Serious flooding in areas, lots of cars washed away and 2 people currently missing. Here are some pics! (not taken by me) Uni Before: Uni After: Other pics:

Cost of rechroming 240 bumpers
Hi Chris - I thought the hubcaps were stainless steel? Or are you just looking to get a better finish??

Britsh Tourist Kills locals and a Zed.
Of course the 240Z is less safe than modern cars, to think otherwise would be ignorant. But that's one of the risks you take to own a classic automobile. I feel sorry for all involved, and hope they weren't a member here on the boards. Please drive safely, dont do stupid things and watch out for idiots! P.S. I couldn't help but notice it had fender mirrors, wonder how special a Z it was...?

280ZX Coupes in Oz?
Never said they weren't available, just that they were never sold here, new being inferred.

280ZX Coupes in Oz?
A bit more info about the 2+2 thing, no 2 seater S130's, Z31's or Z32's were sold in Australia.

Old rally racing Videos
That video sounds fantastic Tom - I'd like to see it! If it's over 10MB, PM me and I'll give you login details to my little bit of webspace It will have to only be temporary, but enough time for all of us to download it.

280ZX Coupes in Oz?
You could do..... something a little like this :cheeky: Never seen one in Aus, but I'm sure there is one or two imports. Probably be best to import one from Japan and don't worry about the new engine! L28 Turbo mmmm...

MMm-Mmm! If you get time and have the guts, I think you could really freshen up the rear of your car by removing the tail lights and giving them a thorough clean inside and out. I'm just being picky though, this is one of the best original Z's in existance! Keep her safe.

I agree - I love it! And silver makes it better BTW, where the front overriders ever further in like that on production models? I've seen it a few times and always thought it looked wrong, but seeing it on this car makes me think perhaps it's how it was meant to be for some models?

Is there such thing as a "smoke bomb"?
Thanks fellas! I am not sure how many fireworks shops there are here, but I'll have a look in the yellow pages for something. I like the idea of the water pistol Carl! Don't worry, no sheep will be harmed in the making of this film.....

Is there such thing as a "smoke bomb"?
Hi guys, Bit of an obscure question, but I am doing a film for one of my subjects at uni and as a part of it a motorbike breaks down. I'd therefore like to have some kind of small smoke "bomb" that I could place on the bike to make it look like it's pouring out smoke. Does anyone know if such a thing exists and where I might be able to source a couple?? Thanks!

Nah Ben, just humble Gareth! I did see you then... I just didn't put 2 and 2 together though. Pah, anyway, apparently a lot of Z's didn't turn up because it was going to rain. Thanks must be given out to Alan T for the stickers, they are cool aren't they! The little red one is a notification for fuel pump attendees to fill up with leaded fuel. The other one is from 'Nissan Prince Tokyo' - one of the Nissan Sport Corner dealerships in Japan that sold the hot Nissan models exclusively. And the Watanabes are just single piece - I think that style is more period. Pity I didn't get to see your car more thoroughly. You should have entered! I've now uploaded all the larger versions! Was a great day

'Big Sam' at Goodwood
I don't know much about Big Sam, but I will have to do a search on this site some day as from the sounds of it it was a pretty important car. Thanks for the pictures!

They're all uploaded to my space now, but unfortunately only in low-res. I will upload the full 1600x1200 images hopefully tomorrow, when I get more space!! There were literally hundreds of cars there, I only took pictures of the more interesting ones, but even then I missed a few as they started to leave early. Gareth - Thanks! But... where was your car?? A serious lack of Z's showing!

The response is good to see! Rick, you're right, that's why I was a bit hesitant... Don't want to clog the images server with images of other cars. Anyway, I decided to upload them to my space instead, so check them out at: http://storm.elxx.net/alfadog/racq100yrs/index.html I even put the Z pictures at the beginning

I have a whole bunch of pictures of cars from today's RACQ Festival celebrating 100 years of motoring. A couple of Z's, but a lot of other interesting (to me) cars too. I was just wondering if anybody would be interested and if I should upload them? I'm talking Austin Healey, Mini, Capri, S600/800, Lotus Escort, Pontiac, Mercury, Desoto, DB6, Jowett Jupiter, Bolwell...
