280zx parts to 240z
hey guys been away from Z's for way too long and getting back into them. tried a quick search but couldn't find anything deffinite just need to know what parts from a 280zx will go into my 240z? I know engine and tranny will no worries just wondering about the whole rear end, moustache bar, suspension + arms, front crossmember and front suspension and anything else i forgot. cheers for your help

steering lock
whta the best and easyest way to get the steering lock off without a key??? i need to move a car (75 260z) tomorrow ond i don't have the key's can anyone help???

how much power????
did we even get the N42 head over here if we did how hard are they to find? not sure exactly what the cars going to be used for most likely a lot of street use, hopefully a fair fem track days, i think you guys call it autocrossingand the dream would be a few amiture tarmack rallies. so what sut up should i go for?

yeah money its the greatest obsticle!!! hell i'm still prepearing the body for rust removal and a paint job..... good thing is i was able to pick up the block and head for free along with the whole car!

been doing a bit a thinking! What sort of power figures would i get out of: A F54 block bored out to 3.1 running P90 head with new cam (any suggestions?) tripple webbers (or is their anything better?) with extractors 5 speed etc........ so all you hardcore z guys what sort of numbers would i be pushing? and has anyone done this?

Dream Upgrades in Your Car?
you gotta love the RB26DETT but i think i'm going to keep mine slightly original so i thinking of going for a: F54 block bored out to 3.1, With a P90 head hoping for a compression ratio of about 10.5, Feeding that will be tripple webbers And finally 2 1/2 inch exhaust possibly 3 thats what i'm thinking about, anyone got any ideas of what power figures i'd get out of that?

pannel shops how $$$
i'm not too worried about stripping it, its the putting back together i'm worried about! i know this has probably been asked lots of times but whats a good way of stripping it back to metal? someone suggested a wire wheel on an anglegrinder but a mate of mine said it may warp/scratch up the pannels. Also whtas the best wayto store them and not tarnish (probably wrong word) or surface rust? sorry for the stupid Q's but this is my first restoreation attempt and i want to do it right! Also i'm doing most of the work in a car port till we move in a few months so we'll hopefully have a garage for me to steal. thanks

pannel shops how $$$
i was just wondering what sort of $$$ i be sending if i took my 260 to a pannel shop and got them to strip it all to bear metal fix the rust and respray? even jus a ball park figure. also has anyone found a good pannel shop in perth (australia) that specalise in this sort of thing? i think raod craft used to but i think they closed down. any help will be appriciated, thanks

260z restoration
hi! I'm new to this forum. I own 2 1975 datsun 260z one registered and the other not. What i was wondering was dose anyone out their know of any restoration places? What i was thinking was ALL rust removed bear metal re-spray, new interior and either get the origional engine and gearbox etc reconditioned or go for a RB20DET conversion. Any advice on all the above would be helpful. PS. I'm based in perth western australia i would also like to get an idea of how many other 240's and 260's are driving arond in perth and other states? thanks your help and advise will be muchly appreciated.
