  1. Thanks for confirming that for me. I was pretty sure but did not want to go buy them take them to my painter 2 hrs away and then them be wrong. I am not going to go with stainless for the reason mentioned above, I have gone way to far in details for this car and I don't want to introduce anything into the mix that would promote future rust. This has been a complete down to nut and bolt resto and every surface has been media blasted and preped Epoxy primered then sealed and painted so I think standard steel bolts that have the same protection as the body sheetmetal will be just fine. I will try and upload a few teaser pics for the help.... Jeff
  2. TRYKFLYR, That would be very helpfull.. I had thought most of them were 6mm 1.0 but want to be sure since the type of replacements I am buying are not easy to find and somewhat expensive as bolts go. I do think the ones on the lower rear part of the fender to body are 8mm but I am not sure if they are 1.0 or 1.25 thread pitch. If you can confirm for me you would save me countless gallons of fuel to make a trip to check them for myself. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Jeff
  3. Well I understand your statment about detail's, however I would have figured since I posted this in the S30-Body and Paint forum that would explain what car (since these bolts are all the same on 240/260/280). I realize not everyone has all the specialty tools but I felt these were somewhat standard for someone doing a resto, I can't be the only one doing a complete tear down. I will try the FSM option, I looked for the information on the Nissan parts site but had no luck. Thanks for posting it is a 72' 240 from my profile by the way, just incase there was q question. Still looking for the info. Jeff

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone out there could take a few bolt measurments for me? My car has been in paint jail for the last 18months and he tells me that it is jammed and ready to hang the sheetmetal back on so he can now spray the rest of the car. One of the things I wanted to do was replace some of the body bolts with something slightly different but the same thread size and pitch (only change the head style like panhead torx and cap head allen's) but I have the original bolts in storage and the car is 2 hrs away for me to go check the jamb nuts for size and pitch. Below is a list of the ones I need to get, if possible could someone with a tap and die set or a caliper and thread pitch gage check them for me? I have looked all over the internet with no luck at this point. I know I could buy the zcreations stainless kit but that is not what I am really after. I have a stellar Nut and Bolt place here in town and I would like to go pick them up asap.. Fender to Body under hood bolts? Fender to Body where the Fender bolts to the rocker on the bottom? Fender to Body inside Door Jam? Fender to Cowl area under Cowl? Fender to Headlight extension of Body? Headlight bucket to Headlight extension of Body? Hood to Hinge? Hood Hinge to Body? Size (not hex head size), Length and thread pitch... I know that sounds like a long list but someone has to have them handy and be able to check them. Thanks in advance.. Jeff
  6. I need a set, either with no play in them or just a very slight amount. I can rebuild them but mine are in bad shape. I would be happy to paypal you for them if you have a set. I know Motorsport has them, but 100 bucks a hinge seems steep. If so email me at jeffhillhouse@valornet.com Thanks Jeff
  7. I did not think it was an issue of the cost.. However I would think a Free Hotmail acct. would already be getting spammed to death. Jeff
  8. Will Do, however elaborate.. This is a Hotmail (free) acct anyway. Thanks Jeff

  11. OK I am half way to fabricating the area as we speak but would cut it out in a heart beat for the original part. I can afford the shipping that is a non issue., I just had some performance parts made in NZ for my RB that is going into this car and the freight was not bad at all. I am just wanting to have a undetectable patch and even though the repair I have almost finished is 95% just like factory it is in my opinion detectable to someone who knows what they are looking at. I'll be honest I should have just let it stay in there as it was just some pitting that could have been fixed after the car was media blasted but I just couldn't bring myself to leave any parts that have evidence of rust in there. I am ANAL I know.. I am still looking and will continue to look for a good patch panel untill the day I spray the final primer coats. Thanks for the advice anyhow.. Jeff
  12. Any chance anyone either in New Zealand or Austrailia might have a line on a piece of the inner fender area on the right hand side of a 240z. I know that being that they are right hand drive there that the battery might not have had it's way with the metal. I need a part from the firewall to the frame rail and forward to about 6 inches from the strut tower for a 240 I am restoring. I would pay a premium for a clean one..I can provide pics for anyone who might have a car they want to part out or know where one that the pannel could be had from.. Just drop me an email. jeffhillhousenospam@valornet.com (just remove the nospam part.) Thanks alot. Jeff

  15. All I have to say is Good Luck, I had to drive to Vegas and drag mine back. I feel there are very few ones to be had here in the midwest. I am in Broken Arrow, it's good to see another Okie.. Good luck Jeff
