  1. there is an additional charge for having a "Buy It Now", but it wasn't very much IMO. At least it wasn't high on the parts I sold on eBay (I didn't sell a whole car)
  2. maybe my memory is faulty but IIRC the 1988 Nissan GTP-ZXt beat Porche for the IMSA GTP season-long champoinship. Did that also happen with the earlier referenced Nissan or was it a one race wonder? No, I don't want to debate it, just looking for clarification of the actual facts since none have as yet been provided. Inquiring minds want to know.
  3. That doesn't sound normal. What could be thinning your oil? Water? No, that would turn it into brown mayonaise. anything else? Hmm....... I wonder, could it be........... Clue: Does the oil smell like regular old, normal oil? What is the condition of your carbs? Have they been rebuilt? are they working properly? doesn't sound like it from the symptoms you describe. If the missing gas isn't powering your engine properly (and being burned in the form of "normal" gas mileage), and isn't leaking externally, there are only a few places left that it could be going.
  4. Rick, Sorry I was so vague. What I was meaning was that money is a very powerful motive for some people. They will do anything to acquire it, and won't care one bit who they hurt, or disappoint by way of their deceptions. They won't even care that they've ruined their own reputation, and lost any respect that they may have achieved in other area's of their life. The internet makes this sort of scamming SO easy to do, and to think that one can get away with it. (ten feet tall and bullitproof) It should be a lesson to all of us. PS, Yes he is.

Thanks for the effort Mike. Looks like you have to register to view the article. i won't do that. I have enough spam without the added assistance of the LA Times. Thank you anyway.
  7. Not even close to jealous, but very nervous when you say things like that. :devious:

link doesnt seem to go anywhere.
  9. I though this was going to be a Z Event, not a Brokeback Mountain event!
  10. Man it's getting confusing since the hijacking of Dogma's thread. I've re-read the thread from Post #1 to my post and I don't see that Arne is "doing" any decal. He posted an example of the one on his car. (thanks for that, Arne); but I thought it was Dogma who was considering having the cross style ones made and then AZ-240z who has the rectangular ones. Where am I getting lost here?

I guess so. Did you click on the "JC Whitney" link located in Post #1 of this thread? If you do, it will take you directly to the item being discussed.
  12. The picture shows the area is rusting from the inside out in addition to the rail being bent. Its quite possible (maybe even probable) that the car is going to need a new frame rail and TC pocket. In cases like this, what you see from the outside is usually just the tip of the iceberg. If it was my car, I think that I'd have a competent bodyman examine it and advise you as to what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and in what order it should be done.

The last Z I bought had a bit of separation of the fuel door from it's hinge. I cleaned the area as best I could and mixed up some 2 part epoxy from the hardware store, smeared it in between the hinge and door and then lightly clamped it back together with a C clamp overnight (using small blocks of wood to protect the metal parts from the clamp). Works good so far, but I should have used a bit less epoxy as there is a visable bead of epoxy showing around the edge of the hinge. (can't see it with the door closed, but I see it when I fill up though no one else would)

  15. Yeah, I don't know if the ZX alt does either. It certainly could have it. My point was that if you don't toss it, there are likely others who would buy them from you, if they ae in decent shape. That's all.
  16. I'm not one of the people buying parts from you, but I'm really sorry to hear that your pal has such a terrible illness. Having suddenly lost two of my buddies (cats) in the past 8 months, I know how you must feel. Nothing I could say has any chance of consoling you so I won't even try, but keep the good times you shared in your head and your heart.
  17. Arne, he doesn't even have a radio in the car. It may or may not be needed. Either way, don't toss it, as it (and the one often found on the coil) are virtually impossible to find new.

Now you (and all of us) know why Urgelis hides his feedback rating. Might I suggest that you post the information on the head ( and ALL of the problems that you encountered) that he sold you in the original thread that you created so that others who come across that thread will be advised of the quality of merchandise sold that pinhead worm. This situation should be a lesson to everyone about buying from someone who hides their feedback, or has $hitty feedback.
  20. me too. I guess what I was trying to say was that (in my mind) there cannot be any "slack" (lesser tension) on the driven (straight) side of the chain. However, there can be increased "distance" between the timing marks of the two sprockets, but that distance would be filled with a "longer" (stretched) chain which (via the crankshaft sprocket) will pull the camshaft sprocket with the same amount of force (tension) applied to the chain.
  21. Still, I do not see how you can say "changing the hole simply puts more tension on the straight side of the chain." Yes, using a differnet locator hole will maintain optimum angularity between the two sprockets, but it neither increases or decrease the "tension". If one were to measure "tension", it would be the same no matter which of the locator holes was being used (using the same chain, gears/sprockets). The tensioner will take up ALL slack until it's limits are exceeded.
  22. I don't really see how this could be correct. No matter what cam locator hole you use, the number of links between cam gear and the crank gear remains the same, and the tensioner is always going to take up ALL of the slack in the chain. There should be no difference in tension (all other things being equal). From what I can see, changing to the #2 or #3 cam locator hole will ONLY change the point(s) at which the valves are operated in relationship to the position of the crankshaft/pistons. (i.e. advancing the camshaft in 4 degree increments in relation to the crankshaft/piston(s) operation) Does that make sense or am "I" completely losing it?
  23. ............................ not to mention his rallye clock! ! ! !
  24. Hey man, I do understand the feelings you have (been there, done that); you reminded me OF me in my younger years. Looking back, I wish I had just enjoyed what I had instead of letting the negitive stuff affect me as much as it did. If he does forget, realize that there will come a time that HE wishes he hadn't forgotten. HIS LOSS.
