I agree, the concept seemed interesting but not the price. I plan on looking into the superbrites you mentioned .

Dave, if they do work i'll try them myself also as I will be pulling the dash outt anyway. What is your opinion on the spiderlite for the tail lights?

I saw a product on an older episode of two guys garage called SPIDERLITE which addresses the multiple led in a socket issue. They use it in a tail light application. Couldn't find it in the site on a search so here it is.

Looks great! Your hard work has paid off.
  5. It's about that time here also. This weekend I'll put the bags tied with rubberbands around the exhaust and intake to keep the mice out while they look for winter housing. Hopfully I'll get a couple of rides in before the full winterization takes place.

Not sure what you're planning Will but if you want dimensions of the actual hood from certian points to cross reference or check the scale of the drawing let me know.
  7. I used the Prothane brand and had the same question.I found it hard to belive they would hold grease so I emailed tech support and they assured me they would seal properly. 6mo so far so good.

Worst part is not being able to get together and meet everyone.Would be nice if we could all take our vacation at the same time and just happen to be at the same place. I cannot belive the vast cross section of experience and knowledge on this site concerning a 30+ yr old car. I don't have too much experience so I don't post alot . No info better than bad info. But I do read many many posts and find it relaxing after a day of work.I do not like when the conversation gets ugly ,but things happen considering it is the internet .I enjoy Bill's use of english so please no spellcheck. The worst thing is that there are only a few Z people in Ct. I may have to go north and visit the Zman! This site is bascially my owners manual.

    Sent you PM.
  10. Being able to ask a question and almost always getting a response is the most helpful for me as this is my first restoration. Stephen was a great help in pointing me in the correct direction with my EFI system everytime I hit a roadblock.I always search and check threads for info. In all owning a Z would not be as much fun without this site.

My stepson had a 98 civic and tried to do a little ricing up and every other word out of his mouth was JDM this and that . I doubt he even knows what it meant. Poetic justice finally happened when he slapped it into the front of an accord. No injuries except to pride/wallet.

If you haven't already go check TT.com or Zdriver mabye which gives you the what to look for with a TT purchase.Once the wife sits in it you own it. I have a 96 NA and it is a great car but is completly different in all aspects. Much more complicated even for changing plugs which is a half hour job.I will probably sell so I can spend more time/money on the S30.Good luck.
  13. Electrical being #1 on my list giving me EFI and AC problems from day one to present. I can now remove the dash in about a half hour ,stare at the wires for 2 hrs waiting for one wire to admit it's the problem then put it back together.

Before you get too far. If this only happened when you turned a corner was your battery secured down?

My daughter told me a silver Z with red stripes drove by the house yesterday evening. I've never seen that car in town and suprised to have it drive by my house because it's a one way in and out development. Told my wife he's either lost or needs parts.
  18. I wound up doing the cut and weld thing for the same problem. Time consuming but it looks ok. Guess it depends on what level you're taking the restoration to.
  19. It should be more like lift your foot lose your ride. Race like a man as they do in autox and other sports. The sandbagging will be the shows undoing.Just not fun to watch.

What might also help is to keep a spray bottle of slightly soapy water around to keep the gasket slippery and less prone to tearing as you pull on the rope . You may not need it but somtimes it can help get the rubber over the flange.

Sounds good,I just need some notice. They also opened up another Pepe's in Fairfield recently.
  22. It might be easier and cheaper to wait for the parts at the landfill.

I replaced the rubber bushings with poly on my 77 280. It's a daily driver and the poly works fine for me. I cannot compare them to the stock rubber because I only drove the car with worn out rubber bushings in which the ride was pretty sloppy. No vibration or noise for mine.
